Best apps/books/whatever to learn guitar?

I bought a guitar years ago with the intent of learning. But, as it often does, life got in the way.
I think I'm at a place where I can dedicate more time to it.
Any suggestions on where to begin? I'd rather not take in person lessons. Any apps yall can recommend?

When I started back up after years of not playing and never really having formal training other than learning to read tabs, I used Guitar Tricks for a little bit. I started playing again because my son was learning. I sent my son to someone for lessons. After going to a few lessons with him, I now take lessons in person and dumped the app. It's just so much easier to discuss with a real person. I'd at least check out virtual lessons with someone. Guitar Tricks was fine to figure out the very beginning steps, but when I started having questions about music theory as it relates to guitar, I needed a person, because if it didn't click the way a video described it, I had no way to get it clarified. At least not easily.

Right. Which makes it hard to narrow down. Any suggestions?

Fender has an app called Fender Play.
Gibson also has an app. IIRC, both cover basic stuff.
There are some good basic lessons from teachers like Marty Schwartz on YT to get you up and running with basic chords.
Basic Lesson 1
Truly, the YT lesson available are very plentiful. If I had had a resource like YT when I started learning guitar I would have learned 1000 songs in a year or two.

I don't know how old you are, but I highly suggest getting a good instructor.
I wish I had done it.
The bad habits that I picked up, by learning on my own are getting in my way now, and I'm having to work really hard on correcting them.
A good instructor can keep that from happening in the first place.

Marty Music has been mentioned.
Justin Guitar is another.
Active melody is good too. You have to go way back in his lessons for basics. Now his lessons are primarily teaching people how to “noodle” around and make sense. Intro to BASIC soloing etc.
I’d also suggest some “guitar karaoke” type sites. The song plays with words like karaoke, but the chords are added. A YouTube channel is FCN I think. Has about a thousand songs. There are several. Joanne Cooper, PlayWhatYouFeel. They go from basic to some stuff that is tough. You’d think 80’s cheese might be easy. But some of it is not. Keep up with lessons. But those sites get you actually playing songs.

Might help to spell out what you know? For instance: A few big cowboy chords, how they are constructed, any scale work/knowledge at all.
Style of music you prefer?
Electric or acoustic?
