From rap, Blu and Exile "Below the Heavens". It got rather popular the 1st year it was out but a great majority of rap fans have never heard it and they are missing a truly great rap album. Should be in any rap fan's collection.

Ehhh, that's a pretty popular album.

And damn, I'm listening to that Ryan Adams album, Heartbreaker, for the first time. This is good shite! Thanks for the recommendation OP!

My contributions:

Albert Hammond Junior (guitarist for The Strokes) - Yours to Keep

Broken Social Scene - Self Titled

Jay Reatard - Watch Me Fall

Natural Bridge by the Silver Jews

Lyrically, it's one of the best albums ever written, IMO.

Yeah by far his best, it's raw and gritty. He's starting to suck now that he's with Mandy Moore. fricking Mandy Moore, screwing up good music.

He's sucked for a long time. Wildly overrated.

Lucinda Williams--Car Wheels on a Gravel Road.

Critically acclaimed, but you could ask 10 people in Lake Charles, and probably only 1 or 2 have heard of her (despite "Lake Charles" being a song on the album).

I alternate between Heartbreaker and 29. The writing on 29 gets me every time.

I'm happy for him, I see it as a positive that he is happy enough NOT to write those two albums again. This thread has inspired me to change my sig quote.

Love this album. Hmmm... I'd say All hands On the Bad One by Sleater-Kinney. the best album by the best rock band of the past 20 years.

Yeah, I said it.

Either that or Mudhoney's Superfuzz Bigmuff.
