I like the shout for Urban Hymns, but I'd argue that A Northern Soul is just as good and gets nowhere near the same recognition.

Urban Hymns is the only one of their albums that I've listened to in full, so you may be right.

Lee Michaels - Fifth

This album has his only big hit, "Do You Know What I Mean"

The whole record is fantastic and sounds sort of similar to "Tumbleweed Connection" Elton John and other albums of that time with a Gospel-Blues sound to the pop.

If you like that sort of sound from the early 70's, do yourself a favor and download this album.

Emergency and I by the Dismemberment Plan is pretty overlooked imo. Rarely even mentioned around these parts.

Always my answer for "Best of the 90's" threads in various forms.

I'll say:

I liked Midlake, but it just didn't grab me the way I thought it would. It was sort of Dallas' answer to Spoon and... er.... I like Spoon a lot better.

The Fratellis - Costello Music

I think the whole album is just fantastic. They just seem to be one of those bands that just don't have a natural audience in this country. The music is just pure joy to my ears.

Failure - Fantastic Planet

One of the best albums of the 90s. Singer/guitarist Ken Andrews went on the play with Replicants and Year of the Rabbit. Also, A Perfect Circle covered one of the tracks on this album "The Nurse Who Loved Me". Great concept album!

I forgot this exhisted!!!! +1 forsure

Wouldn't use the term best here. However a album that comes to mind for me is Russian Circles- ENTER. If you are into instrumental progressive metal then this is for you. Death Rides a Horse

Good choice.

Their cover of Depeche Mode's Enjoy the Silence is quite good:
