A few years ago Sturgill lost his voice at the Tabernacle and did a makeup show a few months later.

My memory is a bit foggy on this, but a few bands I liked in college played both New Orleans and Baton Rouge in the same week. I want to say I saw The Connells and Guadalcanal Diary in both within a short time.

I saw GnR in August 2016 and then in December 2018 (In Hawaii). That was technically the same tour.

The Eagles outdoors at Rice Stadium on their Hell Freezes Over tour ('94). They friggin rocked. Kickass college bar scene afterwards.
A fairly hard ticket. No one knew what day tickets would go on sale. I was working nights on a land rig in Hackberry. I had to drive about 15 miles through the marsh on a gravel road to a lone grocery store every morning after work to use their pay phone. Speed dial to Ticket Master. After a few days the tics finally went on sale...
Then with a different girlfriend months later at Cajundome in Lafayette. They weren't as good and sounded/looked burned out.
Now they're old and decrepit and Henley is using backing tracks...

Yeah, there were quite a few bands I saw in a similar fashion at smaller clubs... trying to remember full blown arena/stadium tours...
I'll see Oasis in Chicago and L.A. later this year... a couple of weeks apart..

Tool and NIN I would always go to Houston and NOLA for their shows.

Dio. Saw him at UNO on the tour with the big mechanical dragon - best stage show I had ever seen. Told this girl I liked, who was a total preppy and not into metal, how amazing it was. Convinced her to come the next night in Mississippi. The stage show was gone - something about fire regulations. I don’t think she believed me.

Helps when they play 3 straight shows in the same place…. Each show is like seeing them for the first time.
