Who are groups whose music or live show you really enjoy but whose personalities/personas suck. Lately for me; Wayne Coyne from the Flaming Lips. Ever since they parted ways with their drummer he's become incredibly obnoxious/just sucks and is completely full of himself. However, I still enjoy their live shows.

Who else you got? (Another obvious answer is Kanye)

Rush.

Mainly the guitarist Lifeson (sp?) his “blah blah” speech at the rock and roll HOF just made him look like a complete dick.

Great musician(s). But I hate the whole “fame is bullshite” attitude. He’s right about fame to a point but if it’s that bad.... World needs more bartenders!

Robbie Robertson from The Band is pretty detestable once you learn what he did to the others.

Good one, but of course, he's the only really detestable member of "The Band"

Another one, I won't speak ill of the dead, but Don Henley is a giant a-hole. Draw what inferences you like.

Black Crowes - Chris Robinson
Janes Addiction - Dave Navarro
Led Zeppelin - John Bonham (particularly when drunk)
VU - Lou Reed

I go back and forth on John Lydon. I generally get along with kind of cranky personalities but I don't know how much of his contrarian bullshite I could put up with if I knew him personally.

Plus there was that whole, "Canadian Lives Matter" incident when he and his son fought with the cops in Naples, Florida, then blamed the hotel and the cops.

At least they got tased for their trouble.

Yea, I was going to mention Robbie Robertson. He's a major a-hole. ...and it's a shame because I really like his playing style.

Recently read "This Wheel's on Fire...Levon's book. Great read.

I'd add Fogerty to the list as well. He was a jerk to not only CCR, but his own brother.

Tom died, basically not on speaking terms with his famous brother.

On the other hand, I kind of get John's point when the band sided with the record company over him (they couldn't live on royalties, he could).

But, he brought his own band to the Rock HOF ceremony - that's not cricket.

Pretty easy. Off the top of my head:

Metallica - Lars
Crosby Stills Nash - David Crosby
Ryan Adams/Whiskeytown - Ryan Adams
The Black Crowes - Chris Robinson
Tool - Maynard

The Band would have been nothing without him. He wrote or co-wrote almost all the songs.
