not going to be everyone’s cup of tea but phish has been churning out original music, playing sold out live shows (every one different), and providing new and exciting experiences for their fans since the mid 80’s. Their longevity while never becoming an oldies casino act and always pushing for something unique is nearly unprecedented, and the four person lineup has not changed since their very early beginning
I can get behind this. When I listen to their newer shows, it feels that they keep rising to a new level. mid 2000's I fell off of them a little and became stuck listening to the older stuff, but this newer stuff is great.

Wilco. Tweedy is an incredible songwriter.
And prolific and that's probably my only gripe with him. It's an odd problem I have too.

Primus always killed it, also King Crimson, but they're no longer touring.

I get it. Hard to keep up with a constant stream of new stuff while giving any of it the time it needs.

Devin Townsend has been consistently good throughout his career.

Iron Maiden and Tool are the correct answers.
Hard to argue with this

Probably not a popular choice but even if you don't care for Wilco ya gotta give Tweddy his due. A string of solid albums since the mid 90's with equally strong solo work should qualify him/them on this list.

Sure some do, I think it’s solid. Hell, the Black album was slagged by so many as not being heavy enough but it’s a masterpiece, IMO, production wise, song wise, James’ vocals, and Kirk’s solos, etc.
Death M & Hardwired are awesome later years records. Dudes were in there mid 40’s & 50’s for these recored. Impressive.

Every thing post-reunión Suede has put out has been solid, at the very least.

Roll the Bones was bad enough to make me stop listening.

Clapton has had a pretty long career, with completely different phases, that were always able to make the charts. U2 kinda has that same ability

Not really a band in the traditional sense but Steely Dan managed to make great albums with various musicians on each record. So really Walter Becker and Donald Fagan.
