How are we on page 4 and not seeing Ray and Dave Davies?

Ray literally stomped on his brother's birthday cake

Dave was no saint himself (see his treatment of Mick Avory).

I presumed the implication of the thread title was unwarranted assholery. Which is why I haven't mentioned the Stones' behavior toward Brian Jones, as Brian could be a mighty big POS himself.

He was CCR. Every hit they had was bc of him. You could have switched out all the other band members and they would have been just as successful

The same could be said about others mentioned in this thread. How many hits would The Smashing Pumpkins have without Billy Corgan?

I will say they both gave as good as they got and still clearly love each other, but the sibling rivalry thing is not justifiable - fighting over who wrote "You Really Got Me" for 55 years or whatever instead of both conceding to the other in part.

The birthday cake thing is just hilarious to me. A fifty year old man throwing his brother's birthday cake to the ground and stomping all over it.

Maybe? Probably?

Truth be told, McCartney was really the a-hole to the rest of The Beatles.

The first McCartney or the second one?

I totally forgot them.

While we are talking about feuding brothers, you have to add the everly brothers.

A book was published called Everybody had an Ocean, about the L.A. rock scene in the '60s. A section about the Beach Boys reunion tour of a few years ago ended with this line:

"And with the tour's conclusion The Beach Boys returned to what they do best -- suing each other".

I remember reading that the Beach Boys grew so tired of Mike Love forcing transcendental meditation on them that they used to urinate on his meditation area on their plane.

Definitely Roger Waters.

He fricking sued his former bandmates, after making some of the best albums ever, in order to prevent them from using the 'Pink Floyd' name.

Mick Jagger - treated the rest of the Stones (and most other people unless he could use them for something) like shite. Stole a few of Keef's and one of Clapton's chicks. Negotiated a solo record deal while working on a deal for the Stones. Left $$ on the table in order to get his own deal.

Brian Jones - Saw and presented himself as the leader of the band even though Mick and Keef wrote the songs. Arranged to be paid more than the rest of the band.

How has David Byrne not been mentioned? A musical genius that was hated by his bandmates in the latter years of Talking Heads.

I can respect his talent, as a songwriter. I just don't care for his singing voice and definitely don't care for anything that he's released as a solo artist.

I could happily go the rest of my life without ever hearing "Centerfield".

I've read Byrne would make Tina Weymouth audition for bassist before recording each album.

Another one about Jagger. He knocked on Charlie Watts hotel room door with a writer and introduced Charlie to the writer as "his" drummer. Charlie proceeded to deck Jagger with one punch.

In his defense, it seems like I read that she'd never played bass until she joined the band.

I can't find any indication he made her audition before each album. I can find that early on he made her audition several times before the first record and really wanted to find another bass player.

The stories Franz tells, yeah, Byrne isn't a nice guy.
