Yep. Dan Auerbachs label. Marcus King and Aaron Frazer are also on there. Hank Jrs last album too(which is hilarious btw)
I think it’s all recorded at his studio here in Nashville.

That’s a good price. Let us know what you think when you get to spin that baby…
Three letters ………WOW. Thank you so much for the recommendation. I hear alll the inspiration for the big horn sections for stax, Motown and soundtracks of the 70s. The music, the recording, the everything is so outstanding imo. Thank you
Also, I hope you guys find more great big band jazz, because this is the first in my collection

The posters here post so many interesting LP's. When I see a new one posted, I find a digital version, listen to it, then acquire the LP if I like it.
I appreciate and thank you for all of the recommendations.
I have a question. I have an old (made before I was born LOL) Beocord 8000 that I use to play LP's. I like the turntable, but it still has the original stylus (it was Dad's and the stylus was high grade - I'm not where the turntable is so I can't look to see who made it).
As old as it is, I assume I would get better sound with a new stylus. Any recommendations? Is there a stylus standard configuration or will I have to hunt around for a compatible stylus? Thank you.
ETA: Bang and Olufsen product. Dad's system was my first - CD player, Amp, horrible CD player, turntable and Redline speakers (great aesthetics, thought the sound was great at the time) I moved all the stuff (except the turntable) to my guest house, but some of the baffling (not sure if this is the right term) inside the speakers has deterioriated so they are not usable.

I would highly recommend calling Soundsmith and talking to Peter Ledermann, 914-739-2885. He has specialized for decades in retipping and repairing B&O phono cartridges, in addition to making his own very highly regarded line. They are a small shop so it might take a bit but their work is legendary.

Friend just reminded me of this and pulled it up. I have it on CD, not LP. The Don Pullen - George Adams quartet was FIRE in the 1980s. If you like high energy straight ahead jazz with a touch of free/dissonance thrown in, this is hard to beat.

Usually, it's the surround of the drivers that fails. Foam/rubbery material outside the cone. There are some resources that will redo the surround, but I've never used one. Many years ago, I had two pairs of the Bose 901 Series II speakers that had the surround fail. I returned them to Bose for replacement and they sent me back two pair of 901 Series VI at no charge other than shipping.

LOL, until I saw that cover, I thought Bill Evans was black.
I guess this is similar to black music fans thinking Bobby Caldwell was black. Of course, his label went out of its way to make sure that Caldwell's picture wasn't part of the LP package.

Well you are right actually... sort of.
There are THREE Bill Evans who have played and made jazz records. And in fact all 3 played at least at some point with Miles Davis. The first is the guy you're talking about, the white pianist who played in Miles's legendary group that made Kind of Blue and a few other records. There is a white sax player who played a lot of fusion/funk oriented jazz, including with Miles in his early 1980s comeback. Then there's this guy:
Who was born William Huddleston, had a family name change to Evans, and then later converted to Islam and took his final name of Yusef Lateef.
Always fun to talk about Bill Evans because there are more options than most people realize!
