I don't know why this (Dylan) is a surprise to some... its been that way for the past couple of decades at least. I did see him in the 90s with Paul Simon and he actually sounded pretty good... 8 years ago... crap!
That said, if an artist is still recording and putting out new material, I would expect them to want to play it. I would really only expect a few "classics" if I was going to see them.. unless it was billed differently.

I saw him with Wilco and MMJ about 8 years ago.. It was the same thing, he rearrange the classics so much I had no idea what he was playing unless I happened to pick out a lyric I recognized...

One of the reason I loved Dead and Company in October is because they played nothing but the old music. While not even trying to be "the Grateful Dead" they did play the music that made them famous but in a slower but contemporary style. It was a great show and they actually had 4 different shows all with older songs.

I saw David Bowie with NIN...I went for NIN but decided to stay and see Bowie since I was already there and figured I would know the songs.
He played 1 song I knew and people were leaving fast when he started.
He was terrible AND didnt play the hits. WHY???

Bob Dylan's vocal chords are shot. He should hire Gilbert Godfried to do his singing.

Saw the Stones 5 or 6 years ago in Milwaukee when they dedicated the majority of the show to Sticky Fingers.
It was really, REALLY good.

Some don’t want to be human jukebox… you certainly don’t have to spend your money though

but don’t most of us want to hear some of the old stuff if it’s the first time we’ve ever seen an artist?
For me...absolutely!
