Are Kings of Leon’s first two albums the best ROCK music of this century?

I’m know that it’s music, and that it’s impossible to quantify, but I think an argument can be made. The direction that they took afterward is unfortunate, but that can’t be considered as a factor in this. I’m sure that most will disagree. If you do, toss your nomination(s) out there.

Horrible music. Just horrible. I can think of few bands I hate more who garnered as much unwarranted attention. Although Arcade Fire comes close.

first record was fun enough, in the moment... not very memorable..
the rest of their records were not good...

I didnt care for it... Honestly, I shouldn't have said all their other records weren't good, because I didnt really listen past the 2nd.. maybe cuts off the 3rd... did they record more? I'm not sure..

I like Kings of Leon fine, but, for example, there is a rock band named "Tool" who released an album called "Lateralus" this century and KoL ain't anywhere near that good.

those first two albums were very good. everything else started to become pretty boring. they changed their sound and their looks to be a big "stadium" band

Yeah, they definitely sold out. They made it know that their goal was to become as big and popular as they could. That generally leads to a decline in the quality of the music.

This post hurt my eyes. Either you let your justifiable distaste of everything KOL 3rd record and on cloud your judgement, or your taste in music sucks. Those first two records are fantastic. They're not necessarily the best rock music of this century, but it's closer to that than your ridiculous statement.
FTR I can't stand what they have become, but those first two records can never be tarnished by the pussy rock they transformed into.
