I think about me NOT seeing SRV every once in a while. I was an avid fan back then.
My brother saw SRV and BB King on the riverboat in NOLA. Said it was incredible, as expected.

i got to see him when i was 12 about a year before he passed away i grew up in the dallas area i cried the day he died i still remember hearing about on the radio with my dad headed fishing the old man just turned off the radio and lit a cig and didnt say much for awhile after

Never did...one of biggest regrets.
My uncle lived in Austin at end of 70's early 80's. He used to tell me stories about hanging out at some of the bars, and Stevie would be on this little stage just jammin away while everyone got drunk

Superstition blew me away
What I remember a great show. I wish I had appreciated it as much as I should have..
I remember drinking Dixie beer for some reason that night.

Saw him at jazzfest, can't remember the exact year, but it was near the year he passed. What a talented musician!

Whoa...my bad. I copied a date that a youtube vid was uploaded. Alpine Valley was an outdoor theater just outside of Chicago, and after the show I remember the news breaking on WQFM that his helicopter went down. It was one of those "you know where you were when..." moments.

I saw his last performance. Pretty amazing. He made Clapton look like he was an amatuer who just bought his first guitar.

I love alot of his stuff, but my quirky favorite has got to be Mary Had a Little Lamb. There's just something about those silly lyrics, his on the edge waitin' to bust loose rhythm, and finally his out of this world melodic and restrained solo, that gets me every damned time.

I regret not seeing SRV live,but, I did record on a VCR, not DVD, the Riverboat Concert on a New Years Eve I think.It might have been Austin City Limits. The Fabulous Thunderbirds were also on that show. The show with B.B.King, I also recorded, I think they were different nights, but I got them on VCR. For a guitar player myself, SRV is the best ever, Hendrix was different, not the same music. I have never seen these concerts for sale in a store or website, but I have them. I guess it would be illegal to reproduce them and put them out?
