Anybody have inside info on reopening timeframe for The Varsity Theater?

Website just says "Check back soon" and google search says "Temporarily closed". I hope we aren't getting into some kind of Spanish Moon-like fizzle out. For better or worse the Varsity is a major live music flagship for Baton Rouge.

Recently, someone posted that the Chimes was going to expand into the Varsity. I have no idea if that's correct. If so, it's unfortunate.

Update: I guess all it took was for Chelsea's to start getting some traction. First music show I've seen scheduled at the Varsity since Covid lockdown is "Hotel Burgundy w/ Floribunda" tonight.

The old booker they lost to Laberge years ago is back. They’re filling out the calendar for next year and staffing up. Varsity is coming back
