They are a prog/hard rock band and thats the only label you are allowed to apply to them.

I have to give you Panic guys credit

At least Panic has their own sound and distinct style

That's a lot more than 95% of the scene can say

Are you really interested in Phish's "songwriting"? They're great because of their jams but the actual songs that were originally written are not that great IMO. I mean I love Tweezer but I'm not listening to it for the first 4 minutes, I'm listening to it for the last 15.

Hey you SCI brahs need to help me out

If I'm gonna go buy a ticket to Thursday at JF to go see them pretty much just them (I think Dr Lonnie Smith is playing too but thats like it), I need to know some of thier catalog

What is thier A Live One sort of album/show to listen to? Just to get a noob started

Carnival '99 is their most well known live CD...itunes has a few "dicks picks" types of albums, a lot from Red Rocks

Lizards, Cavern and Mike's song are my favorite of those. I love dwd as well but I still think of it more of a Tweezer/Ghost type song.

I am a sucker for its simplicity. Also absolutely love the guitar right before the final chorus. One of my favorite Phish moments ever actually.
