All jam bands are boring and sound exactly the same (other than Phish)

And the Biscuits
They all have their little slight differences in sounds (Umphrey's with prog/metal, Panic with shitting in my ears, etc.) but in the end all that shite just sounds the same to me.
The whole jam band scene doesn't lend itself to interesting song writing, and most people involved in the scene aren't good enough to make a truly unique sound like the best ones (Allman Bros, Phish, Dead) all did

Hell even in 3.0 all of Phish's sets are totally predictable
You'll get like one really outstanding jam about every show or two. And then you'll just the same 12 minute Hoods that don't peak and Possum.
The scene is dried up

Can we get a definition of "jamband" please. Im trying to figure out if i can bring primus into my argument.

Jam bands are a dying breed...I think most of the blame can be put on Jam_On. When they have shitty artists like Pretty Lights and Dave Matthews, and they play an "extended" live set from them, they label it a solid jam...It's aggravating

Like, oh boy Govt. Mule Superjam! With the guitarist from moe.!
HOW EXCITING
I hope they do that song where they play a bunch of notes aimlessly. I love that one.

I think the jambands that match genres that I like to listen to.
Jam bands are by no means the only genre I listen to.
I like WSP because I like southern rock and their shows are fun.
I like SCI, Railroad Earth, Leftover Salmon, etc because I LOVE bluegrass.
I like Earphunk so much because funk is one of the best styles of music IMO.
I dislike Disco Biscuits, Tribe, and other bands like that because I don't like computerized jams.
Whether or not I like a jam band is if their styles match genres that I normally listen too.

Disco Biscuits, Tribe,
Biscuits go hard. Their songs are god awful, but the jams are fun.
Tribe is elevator music. They're not even really a jam band anymore honestly. Well they're not even a band anymore actually.

Tell him to get in here and explain to all of us here why Primus is not a jam band. They play them on Jam_On. Is he crazy!
