Saw them twice on this tour. Opening for NIN at New Orleans Arena & then headlining at UNO Arena. Greatness.

Saw them on that tour at the International Ballroom on Buford Highway. Snake River Conspiracy was the opener. Maynard had a long blond wig and wore nothing but the black Speedo. He was out front but kept his back to the crowd

I was at that show too. Maynard said Neil Diamond Jr was on drums because Josh Frese was sick or something and of course there is no Neil Diamond Jr.

Maynard and Billy

Just finished MJKs Autobiography. Was a great read with lots of tidbits.

Green Jello - 3 Little Pigs was his first Gold Record. I knew Danny was the drummer, but didn't realize he was the "not by the hair on my chinny chin chin" voice.

He was almost the lead man for RAM. How different that would have been. Glad things worked out with Zach there and him with Danny, Adam, and Paul.

Amazing album. Has most of my favorite APC songs(the hollow, Brena, Orestes, 3 Libras), BUT I think I like 13 Step a tiny bit more.

There’s never been a hotter woman than Paz Lenchantin in the video for Judith btw

This album was such a surprise to me. I don't remember how I found out about A Perfect Circle. It was probably because a friend of mine burned the album for me, and this was right at the beginning of CD Burning and Napster was huge on the scene. I found it to be really interesting music and it was a go to album for years. I remember when Lateralus came out a year later. I had neve really listened to Tool, but learned it was the same singer, so I bought it. I HATED it, outside of Schism. I thought every song was just noise or weird segues with no lyrics. I was so mad and felt I wasted my money. But tool became one of my favorite bands eventually over the next few years.

The first time I saw APC was at Voodoo Fest in '03. I won a 3 day pass from the Reveille (or maybe it was only 2 days back then?). I skipped Saturday as I wasn't going to miss the football game. I went Sunday and met up with some friends, but they took forever to make it over to City Park. We arrived toward the end of Queens of the Stone Age, and APC was up next. I was able to get super close to the stage after QOTSA finished, so I was stoked. This was my first real concert that I chose to go to, and APC knocked it out the park. I was obsessed, and got a live recording of the show. I drove to see them again the following spring in Dallas, where the Mars Volta opened (they instantly became my new favorite band as well).

Musick wrote a great review of the '03 Voodoo show wayyyyy back in the day on APC.net. Wish I could find it. I know I posted it in a previous thread here.

I just saw a snippet of an interview Maynard did recently and the topic of his stage positioning came up. He said with regard to TOOL, it has nothing to do with the mystery, or being a front-man. It came about because Danny and Justin's immense sound made it impossible to get his vocals to sound good live. And also he relies heavily on visual cues so being up front required him to turn away from the audience. Positioned even with Danny on his platform cured all of that.

3 libras still one of the most hauntingly beautiful mainstream rock songs ever to me.

Cool Maynard story.

My wife saw a family member of his for home health when we were working in California 15 years ago. She told her that he actually really didn’t enjoy Tool but did it for the money. His real passions were APC and puscifer.

I was on a street team and they sent us the mp3 for The Hollow a few weeks before the album was released. I can't hear that song without thinking of my Winamp player.

Saw APC in 2004 with the Mars Volta in Dallas. MV was incredible.

Totally different bands, so no. I love Tool and APC, not that into Puscifer outside of a couple songs.

Yeah. Orestes and the Hollow best songs. But 13 step album tops it.

Maynard is a genius.

“Judith” along with “Wings for Marie” from Tool will rip out your heart when you read the backstory.

Id been waiting forever to see it live and finally got to see it a few weeks back on the Sessanta tour.

Honestly, it was a blur, went by way to quick, but holy shite
