What was your first?
8-tracks were around in my early days but quickly was the advent of cassette tapes. For those of you older dudes...

I recall my parents had an 8-track of Herb Alpert & The Tijuana Brass Greatest Hits. That and their LP of the soundtrack from West Side Story were the highlights of their musical taste. They also had albums by Mantovani, Percy Faith, Vonda Kay Van Dyke, and Up With People (whom I was once taken to see live in concert).

It actually belonged to my parents, but I sorta stole it when I was a kid.

Got this for Christmas in 8th grade. Got headphones as well. Had some wine at lunch. Get good buzz going, put on headphones and sing along to Mexican Blackbird. My brother got a tape recorder for Christmas and recorded me. That tape was played over and over at future Christmases.

Oh yeah, Nasty Dogs and Funky Kings.
My first 8 track was Cactus Restrictions, possibly a Canned Heat’s Greatest Hits tape.

I had several Herb Alpert 8-track tapes. I think I got my 8-track player in 1970.

I didn't have any but remember when most cars and home stereos had one. In the early 80s, I went on a camping trip with my best friend and the only thing that we had to listen to was an 8 track his parents had of Kenny Rogers: Greatest Hits. It could have been worse.

I had that Uriah Heep in Vinyl. The first 8-track may have been Ziggy Stardust or a Zepplin
