I was hoping he was gonna play a real show here instead of playing the fairgrounds.

If you want to get a drink with him he usually pops in to J and Js on Duaphine every three or four months, pretty sure he has a place in the Bywater.

It really is a shame that Jazzfest brings lots of artists into town that otherwise I might not be able to see.

Fixed it for ya!

But really, I get your point. I'd rather see a favorite artist in a real show too. However, I've gotten to see so many artists I never would have seen otherwise at the Fest.

Unless you're playing the Arena who ever comes to New Orleans / LA? You lose money doing that.

Jack White
The only date he would be able to play would be April 28th and he'd have to go back and forth to Dallas between shows.

Edit: He could play May 3rd (Thursday) which would suck

It’s awesome that Jazzfest pulls in artists to NOLA that then schedules late night shows in the city those weekends.

Got to see some great sets

They released it in December a while back. It’s getting pretty late, they normally release it by now. Must be waiting on one big headliner to be ready to release a tour. Probably mid next week.

I hate arena shows. I'm damn happy every year seeing the acts at Jazzfest.

We were talking about david Byrne, he would be playing a theater show, not an arena show. Also, most bands play a much shorter set at jazzfest than they would on a regular tour date.

That lineup was posted at least a week ago and also appears on the Jazz Fest forums as "leaked". I think it looks pretty doable.

Official announcement comes TOMORROW, Tuesday January 23.
