Also, I'm definitely here for the Season 3 soundtrack. This show has single-handedly gotten me back into some newer country (outside of Stapleton and Sturgill).
Think I have a CD that has that song they ended the show with. I think it was Colter Wall.

A Colter Wall song that I recognized was in the middle of the episode. Not the end, at least not one that I knew of.
ETA: just finished the encore episode, there was the colter wall I was thinking of.

Just started on Season 1. They have the scene at the Cattleman’s dinner when he gives the speech about how great the USA is and then they all pray. I immediately thought “oh shite this show is getting cancelled for sure.”

Beth sucks. I hope she gets offed this season. This show could have great potential but the characters are just, meh....
Posted on 6/22/20 at 9:59 am to TigerFanInSouthland
Yeah, Beth's schtick is getting old.

Wow. The beginning scene in the finale for season 2 might be the best scene of season 2 with his father.
Don’t give them an inch son. Not a god damn inch
I feel like he could be talking about the BLM terrorist movement too
Haven't seen it yet, but it terms of show stealing opening scenes, they'll have a hard time beating the Rip backstory.

Y'all just can't handle a strong woman that can hold her own against anyone. I adore Beth! Best character on the show! Beth and Rip for the win! I hated her at first, but how can you not love how she protected her sister in law and showed that bitch in the boutique her place! That was awesome!
Can't wait to see more Beth and Jamie (wuss) back story. We already know she feels responsible for her mom's death.
I have a tshirt that says, "Sorta Sweet, Sorta Beth Dutton."

Season 3 opener was pretty tame for this show. The new "enemy" taking on the Duttons and Rainwater should be fun.
yeah been wondering about this for a while.Jamie is easy to hate but, kacey and Rip seem to like him.
looking forward to the Rip vs biker gang episode.
people seem to forget that part. she was fresh out of getting the shite beat out of her yet, she dropped everything to help Monica out.

she drops 2 Benjamins in the jar for the sick kid. So her heart is in the right place most of the time, she just has a major bitch side to her as well.
Also, I love the wranglers. Between the jokes (and oh how accurate the barrel racer joke was) and the dizzy branding iron/roping game, they had me rolling.

I still think it's incredible how well Kelly Reilly hides her accent and sounds just like you expect Beth Dutton to sound.

I wouldn't brag on this. Or wear it in public.

no, they overwrite her character. Anyone- male or female- who was that over the top badass would get teh living shite slapped out of them. Regardless of who daddy is. and it definitely wouldn't fly in ranch country.
They just need to dial the "badass" back a little and she could be far more believable. I got no problem with her being strong and conniving. But the idea that she could take a physical arse whipping is just silly.
and she'd have humbled up after that beating she took in her office.

No, her character isn’t a believable one.

This when sister in law said that was enough and beth told the boutique owner, You're lucky, I was gonna make you frick that mannequin."

I'd never seen a full episode until I watched the marathon on Paramount yesterday. Saw all of Season 2. Both John and Kayce are very likable characters. I like Beth and Monica too. Jamie is pretty despicable. Kind of reminds me of Alfred from Legends of the Fall. Hopefully he gets to redeem himself before the series is over, like Alfred did in the end.
Have to hope it doesn't go off the rails like Sons of Anarchy did. The kidnapping of the little boy, and the response, made me think about that.

My brother's ex is a Plains, MT girl, and the two of them lived in Billings for seven years before their kids were in school. Her dad was an oil man. Took us to eat at the Petroleum Club in Billings. No John Dutton, but he, and other people out there, say things about Native Americans like The South says about Blacks, and Texas says about Mexicans. They hate wolves, and people that don't want them killing them, too.

And the raid to get back Tate, all that killing and no one going to jail, etc. is realistic? Gimme a break! I loved that finale, but not realistic at all. All of this show is a bit overdone and it makes me love it!

The show has been awesome overall but I feel it’s in danger of dropping off, e.g., redundancies, character stagnation, and fluff.
Let’s see Beth being a cruel count to Jaimie again and him cry over it again..that would be new.
