Idk about man but HS girls are inherently evil. So this show might have a point

He cites an actual case in the 20th century of a group of people that were stranded on an island for 2 years before being found, and when the rescuers got there, they did not find a cannibalistic animal society, but instead found a cohesive, functioning, smooth peaceful, harmonious group who all did their part to survive together.

I recall reading about a group stranded on an atoll in the Pacific. I think it was in one of the Tony Horwitz books. They divided, fought, and imposed horrific capital punishment. I guess when you don't have cable TV to pass the time, you flay people or devise other ways to string them up and cause a long, agonizing death that provides entertainment.

What does they're being "wildly talented" have to do with anything?

It's the premise for them getting on the plane and having conflict in the group. Their team won the NJ state championship, started dividing over how to deal with a less talented member of the team, and then flew to the west coast for nationals.

Definitely in on this show

Misty as the outcast before turning into one of the cannibal leaders

Natalie must’ve been fricked with and traumatized now she’s coming out for revenge jt appears

But I’m very interested to see how the situation devolves into being teammates before they start turning on each other and how they decide on the costumes they’re wearing and the hierarchy it develops

Hated how it's telegraphed the 6 or 7 main girls will all survive.

Other than that I liked it

I mean, sh*t, they had already started turning on each other during practice, when Taissa tried to freeze out the Freshman girl and eventually just injured her with a slide tackle. Seems like it would be pretty easy for them to go all out and start eating each other.

I had to go back and rewatch it but Jackie was telling Shauna how she and Jeff were virgins and then at the end of the episode Shauna and Jeff frick and say they won’t do it again

That will definitely come out in the wilderness that they were into the same guy
Also weird how no adult Jackie is shown on the cast list nor on the 2021 timeline

RIGHT!? The girl killed in the opening scene is wearing Jackie's necklace, but we see Jackie give it to Shauna on the plane, and we see adult Shauna, so the necklace had to have been given to someone else at some point. Was that someone Jackie? Who knows!

Shauna winds up marrying Jeff (as seen in Shauna's family photos), so maybe Shauna kills Jackie over Jeff? I wish they'd just release all the episodes at once

so episodes of American Rust would be out when I woke up on Sunday. Is this the normal with showtime? I feel like City on a Hill (another awesome showtime show) was the same way. I really hope this doesn't get released at 10 pm on Sundays

Anyone watched the new episode yet? Pretty good. I hate how showtime makes you wait. This seems like a show that would be better as a binge watch.

No spoilers, but the crazy is strong with that one girl (not going to say the name until others have seen it).

The implication there is that she's dead

I freaking love this show

I was wondering how Misty went from outcast to the Alpha in the woods and I got my answer

She’s thriving now in her element where they are depending on her for once .

So what do we think is going to happen?

There's obviously someone or tribe out there already, given the symbol near the wreckage.

Group gets tormented by boogie man, group turns on each other trying to blame someone within the group?

Was telling wife last night. I actually like the present day stuff far more than the plane crash scenes.

I see a rift between the chubby girl who managed to get out on her own and Jackie because she pulled Shauna out and left her for dead. But the fact that the glasses girl is still just as crazy as an adult yet still convinced Juliette Lewis to get in the car with her leads me to believe they were on the same side. As for the cryptic symbol in the trees already being there, I have no earthly idea. That is why its pissing me off not being able to binge it.

1000% This is a show I'd love to binge in a day. So much easier to follow all the teen/adult characters that way as well.

Right, which is why I don't think she is. Seems like the opening shot of the series would be too soon to reveal her fate.
