Maybe it's because I'm not a huge fan boy, but man I really had higher expectations for this movie.

One of the few Marvel movies that HASN'T exceeded my expectations.

Come on Avengers!

Seriously ?

I am by no stretch a fanboy, and I thought this was one of the best superhero movies ever.

I dreaded going to see it, I loved the first X-men movie, thought the second was ok, hated the 3rd, and thought the Wolverine movie was flat out awful.

This one was a pleasant surprise, it was probably my favorite of the X-men movies.

If you're looking for action solely, then X-Men First Class isn't for you. The action isn't that great. However if you're looking for generally a great film and fantastic drama, characters, and plot, then you should like this film.

I completely disagree, but I can see where you're coming from. It wasn't as action heavy as most superhero movies, but it was still awesome IMO.

SPOILERS

Probably the only problem I had with this movie was Magneto as a child going "rawrrrrrrrrrr" for 5 minutes after they shoot his mom. I wanted to laugh.

Spider-Man 3
Daredevil
Ghost Rider
Hulk
Iron Man 2

are better than X-Men: First Class?

I thought this movie was pretty well-liked.

One of my guilty pleasures. I really enjoyed this movies, even though it seems hated.

I agree with you though, none of those are better than First Class.

What does being a fan boy have to do with liking a good movie? I liked this X-Men movie more than Thor or Iron Man. Not saying I didn't have fun watching those, but I liked X-Men's tone and style more. Thought it was a little edgier. My only problems with the movie were some of the way they played loose with the actual comics. I don't think you're going to ever see a much better superhero ensemble movie. It's a very worthy superhero flick.

To be honest, I was thinking that this is what the scene should have been when Vader found out that he was responsible for his wife's death. The young Magneto in this scene is both horrifying and tragic. It is what that Vader scene should have been.

the action scenes were awesome...it's not an action movie, but the action at the end was incredibly well done...I even kinda like Azazel clearing out the pentagon

I ed

First Class was one of my favorite superhero movies though it did not have a lot of action.

A ton of action is what I guess a lot of casual superhero movie goers look for.

I thought X-Men FC was good. Still think Iron Man was probably the best.

I enjoyed it, but one of my 7 year old sons felt the way you do. He said the "character introductions were too drawn out" (his exact words), and "he wanted them to hurry up and get to the fighting".

Less action is probably a good thing for a superhero movie.

It was good. The only part I thought that was too over the top was the SR-71 hovering over the submarine. Bombay doors and vertical takeoff in an SR-71? An SR-71 can't even fly that low for an extended period of time because it leaks fuel until it reaches high altitude. And yeah, I know it's an X-men movie, but the movie was total badass until that part. Then it was too over the top.
