I thought of doing one similar to this based off me and my friends. every time we go to Bourbon, we end up having odyssey-like nights. We always get separated and always have wierd stories the next day or two (however long it takes us all to find each other)

it would be sort-of like an inverse Hangover, but instead of showing the next day, I would show how we got to the hangover.

And after the protagonist succeeds, he goes back to his time to discover that JFK was still shot. The man believed to have done it was _____ (basically another rube the CIA setup) and Lee Harvey went on to become a world famous actor

I see another road to take

He goes back to his time and the world is communist....meaning JFK actually was a failure- eta: after being "saved" by the time traveler....but it's been done that way I guess

Probably should have written it years ago.

Same thing happened to me. I came up for an idea for a story and never wrote it. I just kept talking about it. Then, it gets made into a tv show.

That tv show is Supernatural.

I am going to get a copy, like lots of early King and the info I searched after you mentioned all make me think it's something I would certainly enjoy

Yeah I did a family so it wouldn't be just the Hangover except bourbon not Vegas. Could make it different being from old parents to younger kids. They could have completely varying stories.

This way sounds similar to Adventures in Babysitting.

That's not a bad thing.

A man travels backward in time to prevent historic tragedies from occurring, which inevitability alters the future and thus, his own life.

I've noticed there are a lot of time-travel pitches.

shite; I didn't read anything.

I figured though. Everyone always thinks they have an original take on time travel.

No one ever does.

In their defense, there isn't much you can do with a time travel story.

Pretty much everything has been done. You can do it better.

Yeah, I'd like to see someone play with the dynamics of an neutral character travelling in time, being forced to stop/solve crimes before they occur (Minority Report-ish) and the consequences of that may or may not adversely affect his or her life (say he jails a criminal who would have eventually been the man who impregnated the woman he falls in love with)... thus he loses his "future love" for the sake of preventing a past atrocity.

That movie has probably been made. Sounds like Caddyshack 2, a little.

america is failing, banks are collapsing, famine has stricken the plains, china has called us on our debt and we only have one hope: dig up the corpse of teddy roosevelt, bring that fricker back to life and let him restore this once great nation.

imagine 'the ocean' by led zeppelin playing in the trailer

There's one idea that hasn't been done. Ever.
