Would Talladega Nights be allowed to be released in today’s P.C. America?

The making fun of gays by the redneck characters, and the homophobia of Girard and his boyfriend would probably cause a meltdown of offended tantrums before it ever reached a big screen. People out the wazoo would be lining up to be offended and protesting demanding that the movie be banned or never released. Hell studios would probably be scared to even touch that part of the script.
Such a great movie though

If anything it completely shits on conservative redneck culture by making them all seem like idiots. The left should celebrate it and point to it.
That’s also one of my favorite movies of all time. It’s hilarious. I remember seeing it as an 11 year old in theaters and my mind was completely blown something could be that funny.

Do you also think Blazing Saddles could be made today?

Yes. The humor would be updated, but the topics and plot would be the same. You just tweak the gay, race, and rape jokes a bit so they're not as broad and Vaudevillian as they were in the original.
Theaters still show these original movies. No one is throwing a fit over them.
It's the films that "glamorize" taboo themes like Gone With the Wind that get protested.

The right has gotten really sensitive lately.
It might go the way of The Hunt.

If Charlie can say the n-word on Always Sunny two years ago I think Talladega Nights would be fine.

Talladega Nights is pretty tame.

The Seinfeld episode about “Not that’s there is anything wrong with that” has been trashed in recent years. Think about that. It won a freaking GLAAD award but is trashed today.
Of course there would be idiots blasting this movie if it came out today.

I feel like it would be exactly the opposite. The joke was that they and NASCAR as a whole were dumb, redneck homophobes.
Unless people on the right got offended, there's nothing offensive to the left. Ricky and Cal are the actual butt of any homophobia.

What's implications mean?

You think they would make a joke about Muhammad like they did with Jesus?

Talladega nights is good but I don’t think it’s nearly as good as Anchorman, Step Brothers, or even The Other Guys
