But being that moonraker was not a Bond flick but poorly done british vaudville it ranks #1 for me. Lots of good contendors for #2 though.
Moonraker was a poor attempt at cashing in on the success of Star Wars. When the end credits rolled on the 1977 release of The Spy Who Loved Me, the end title read: "James Bond will return in For Your Eyes Only." When the producers saw the success of Star Wars they decided to delay For Your Eyes Only and do a James Bond in space movie.

Moonraker
Die Another Day
Quantum of Solace
In that order.

bond movies are based a lot on their villain. i guess the newness of this one kinda jades me from thinking it was a giant piece of shite. The "bad guy" was a complete useless pussy though.
I also was dissatisfied with Roger Moore as bond on the whole. I hated his quote downing Daniel Craig as Bond, saying Bond should be more debonair and suave than a gritty action star. Roger Moore needs to STFU

I'm really not getting all the hate for Die Another Day. I thought the opening scene was great and the premise of the N. Korean villain was interesting.
I also thought that Toby Stephens was one of the more interesting actors to play a Bond villain. I was surprised to find out he's Maggie Smith's son, but I felt he was a little bit electric in the role. Overall not the best Bond effort, but far from the worst IMO. If you're upset about invisible car technology and surfing glaciers you're better off watching the Quantam of Solace and Skyfall, which might as well have been the British Bourne IMO.

Are you guys ignoring the Timothy Dalton ones? Man those have to be the biggest stinkers of all time.
Licensed to Kill and The Living Daylights makes Quantum of Solace look like an Oscar winner.
I actually really enjoy License to Kill. The Living Daylights not so much, but still not the worst.
Die Another Day is my least favorite.

Moonraker. Such an awful Bond movie.
I don't even need to think about it. And this is coming from a big sci-fi fan too.
Bond in space? Really?
I enjoy Moonraker. It's so out there it's funny. Plus it gave us the Moonraker laser, which would later become a great weapon in Goldeneye 64.

Diamonds are forever is awful, should get more criticism. Cheaply made crap with a terrible leading lady, terrible villain, cheesy everything. Dated as hell. At least the song was good

I'm too lazy to google but does the story in the novel Moonraker vary enough from the movie to do a movie from that?
Posted on 2/20/13 at 12:59 pm to FairhopeTider
The novel is completely different.

DAD was campy and over the top. That's not what a Bond movie should be. Everything from the Ice Palace, to the invisible car, to the terrible dialogue. It was a few shades of neon away from being Batman & Robin. It would not have shocked me to see Mr. Freeze make an appearance at the Ice Palace.

There are two point I agree with that give his argument some creedence:
1. Halle Berry's bad acting and dialogue
2. Over the top CGI and tidal wave surfing
There are two points I don't agree with that invalidate his argument for me:
1.He lists The World Is Not Enough as one of the franchise's successes
2. He posits that Madonna's Die Another Day is the worst theme song while giving no mention of the atrocity that is Aha's The Living Daylights.
All in all I still stand by my feeling that this is far from the best Bond film and also far from the worst.

All of them except Casino Royale.

I really liked License to Kill as well. It's a darker Bond film, but a welcome change of pace from Roger Moore. I liked theme song as well.
For me, A View to a Kill was the worst.

Goldfinger...just kidding Die Another Day. What's the board's opinion on the one with Del Toro? I watched the Bond doc and they said it was panned because it was too dark but I thought it looked interesting.

Completely agree. It's my favorite one followed very closely by The Spy Who Loved Me.

Yeah, I'm with this crowd.
I didn't like View to a Kill, but the Walkenage was strong and it grew on me over the years.
Man With the Golden Gun, despite Lee and Villechaize, is pretty bad as well.

Die Another Day is terrible and they keep playing it on Showtime.
