Well sounds like I need to read it.

It's a surprisingly serious and intelligent read. Don't let the subject matter fool you.

The zombies who can run a 3.9 40 ruined this for me. Still entertaining but making them super human is always a shitty angle.

I think there is zombie /virus burnout right now. They shoulda made it a few years back. I doubt they do now.

I was so angry that they wasted the IP for that shite that it clouded my judgement on the movie at first.
Indeed. The first time I saw a trailer for the film, I was so annoyed that I said I would never watch it.

I caved and watched it. It is a decent film, for what it is.

By contrast, and if done right, a 20-30 episode limited series would be absolutely EPIC.

I don't know if any movie that takes an absolute shite on the source material could be considered "fantastic"
and was in no way “fantastic” even divorced from the book. WWZ is an objectively terrible movie

Agreed. It was not very good at all. And it could’ve been, even with them going a different route than the book. But the SFX were awful and ruined any chance the movie had at being salvageable IMO. I mean seriously, there were literally tidal waves of zombies. How fricking stupid is that?

And the fact that we didn’t get a scene based on the Yonkers chapter is borderline criminal.

I always wondered how the movie would’ve turned out had DiCaprio’s company gotten the rights instead of Pitt’s company.

Agree that it is tailor made for a miniseries. If someone like HBO got ahold of the property and did it justice, it could be amazing. I do t read many books, but WWZ was fantastic. I actually read it twice and it’s been so long now that I may have to do it again.

I’ve read it three times, most recently several years ago. I have actually been considering a re-read as well.
