One thing I really loved about this movie is how many times I smiled at Diana's charm and how at ease she makes everyone feel like she's everyone's big sister, best friend or loyal partner depending on the scene and the context. She was just so warm and friendly while being firm and tough in pursuing her goals.

Any movie that makes me smile a lot is a good movie.

Just Diana as a child watching her fellow Amazons fight and play along with them made me think "Wait, are we actually being given a character of passion, optimism, and enthusiasm rather than a self loathing a-hole?"

Haha.. What?

You are telling me that Batman and GotG didn't have to rely on disbelief?

Super ninja clan training in the Himalayas... crazy made up flower with super duper toxins. The man that won't kill... kills like 50 people.
Crazy half breed earth man, a talking triangled face dog, and a tree walk into a bar with a walkman filled with 1000 songs from 1982.

I have loved all of these movies , but honestly they are all silly.

So I just roll with it.
Btw, my favorite is Michael keaton's batman... it's ridiculous.. the way Jack tells his girlfriend "You wouldn't believe the day I had" with his martini is fricking hilarious.

And frick you for sjw comment. Haha

Some, but not any I couldn't explain away giving it the benefit of the doubt.

I did the same. We finally got a character with multiple layers in this universe.

Chris Pine was great. Him and GG had great chemistry. Im pretty jealous of him

Yeah he was good. Was he supposed to be an American working for the Brits, or can he just not do an English accent. Like some other robin hoods.

I thought he said he was American but I could be wrong.

With that said, Superman and Lois Lane is honestly one of the most overrated and mismatched relationships there is.

Love.

Lois is supposed to be just flawed enough, and Supes, for all the things he can do -- still falls for her. It brings out the humanity in him and gives the audience a tentpole to establish both his morality and humanity against, and she doesn't always follow the moral path.

That being said, most of the movie incarnations of Lois are awful, so I can see why you would have that perspective.

BTW: I loved the relationship between WW and supes in the comic :"kingdom come". That hinted at a lot of what you were describing, and if you like comics, and haven't read that -- get thee to a comic shop

Thoroughly enjoyed this!

I had serious doubts about Gadot as WW and I was wrong.

Also, she is one of the most beautiful creatures on earth.

Just saw it. There is no way this movie deserves the praise its getting. The action scenes look like they were directed by Zack Snyder. The story rips off a lot from Captain America. Ares was completely over the top cheesiness.

That being said, its certainly the best DC movie. The tone isn't dreary and miserable like the rest of them. Gal Gadot has a good screen presence. Decent enough but middle of the pack by Marvel standards.

I thought it was great though I have a lot of questions.

Where is Diana during WW2

Is she a full God or just a demigod. If only a full God can kill her... why does she need to worry about bullets

What are her powers.

Was it implied that Steve was a virgin? I think they were but not sure.

Lots more questions coming

Didn't love the end battle. It's not established what she can do, when she is in danger or out of danger, how she knows what to do.

She is 1/2 god on her father's side.

She has only 70% of Superman's strength and invulnerability and she's pissed about it.

They were pretty explicit about his virginity. Not sure how you couldn't pick up that he'd never been with a girl.

She can punch and kick in slow motion and jump really far. She's in danger when people are throwing things at her. She was trained to punch and kick and jump around.

I saw it on Thursday night but needed a day to let it soak in. Wonder Woman is a very good, if not great movie. I think for a mass audience the film did everything it needed to, even if die-hard fans are left a little wanting.

Things that were great:

Gadot and Pine's chemistry
Diana's naivete and sincerity
Cinematography
Action sequences
Diana's final fight with Ares

Things I wanted more of:

I wanted more time on Themyscira with the Amazons, to see how different things are on the physical plane: i.e. the properties of water and sunlight, living in harmony with animals and nature etc.

I wanted a five minute conversation between Diana and Etta Candy. There was a great exchange in one of the comics between them when they first met causing Diana to wonder "Why is she so mis-shapened? For Diana, there is no other choice than physical perfection and fortitude. They would have had a great conversation.

I wanted the contest. It was a huge gap to leave in the story of Diana's origin. I get it that for running time purposes it might have been hard, but it is simply a five to ten minute scene right after Hippolyta catches them at the dock. I really think that Diana earning the right to represent Themyscira in Man's World is important, as is the presentation of her lasso, weapons, and armour at the ceremony. Where the hell did that armour come from anyway? Why was is red and blue as opposed to all the other armour?

But all those are nitpicks- and what you come away with is a story about a hero who cares, and refuses to be talked out it.

Wonder Woman was a very good film about a great character. I hope we get to see her go back to Themyscira in the sequel- and maybe she and Artemis can end up facing each other down for the right to return to Man's World.

Solid 8 out of 10.

Just saw it. I also did not have much faith in Gadot and I was completely wrong. She was stunning in this, and her chemistry with Pine was great as well. Super fun movie and I'm glad the dceu finally has a good movie.
