I also liked XMen Apocalypse so super hero schlock is kinda my thing
Heck, I liked Justice League, Superman Returns and Batman V Superman. And I STILL think WW84 is absolutely horrible.

The plot shoehorning to get Chris Pine back in the movie was pretty lame ...
We're getting a reboot of Quantum Leap anyways, right?
Because that's exactly where they ripped this plot device from, which shows how lacking in originality Patty Jenkins was with this movie.

Wow, what a terrible movie.
The forced campy mall opening was the 7th circle of hell for bad action. The McGuffin had its own McGuffin. Nothing followed any linear progression, unless you stretched really hard.
Mando Max was awful, you cant just show up to work with a shite-eating grin and out-Sloth the Fratelli Brothers, and expect everyone to accept it.
The whole jet thing was the breaking point for me, even for a superhero comic book movie this stood out as the most implausible thing in the movie. Think of that...a movie about a superhero from a hidden island of warrior women, and the fricking fighter jet scene jumped the shark. That's how stupid it was. I guess either that single fireworks display equally covered a 20 mile radius, or that supersonic jet has a "coasting" mode.
Everything else was so bad, the ending fit right in, I hardly skipped a beat in stupidity.
When in the frick did Kristin Wiig wish for a tail??
Considering the first one was pretty good overall, this was such the disappointment. Dont waste your time or money, even in a lockdown COVID world....that's how bad this movie was.

A white guy in DC that isn't a politician? He is. . .what, like one of 7?
Someone has to know him

Rape is ok when it's Gal Gadot, right?
I kind of don't disagree with this line.

Nerdrotic review is in.
So Critical Drinker didn't find any SJW stuff in the film, and Nerdrotic didn't seem to find much. Jenkins was stupid to push the "antagonist is based on Drumph" stuff. I'm not part of a significant demographic, but I enjoyed the first one enough to watch the 2nd, but was turned off by the political stuff. Now I'm actually interested in seeing it just to see how bad it is.
Also, I'm semi-familiar with Pedro Pascal, and would have never guessed that he was the villain without being told so. Even ignoring the hair, his face looks off.

I totally missed this. When did she say that?

And a WW1 by-plane pilot being able to jump in, start and fly internationally on a modern jet?
While dumb shite like that doesn’t really take me out of a comic book movie especially in ones like this where there’s much more to complain about.
Good action and good villains can overcome bad plot holes...this movie had neither of those.

I read where the budget was around $200 million? Holy shite, where did all that money go?
The cgi looked like something I could have made with a Microsoft app.

Bruh, if I had known that all those museum jets were just parked out there full of fuel with the keys in them, I would have been a pilot years ago.

It's now the lowest rated dceu film on rotten tomatoes. I hope Patty pulls out of the third one.

quote:Yeah, dream machines and magic planes don't have to be the death of a comic book movie. Stuff like that should open up possibilities for the writers, but Johns and Patty just threw them out there.

Holy shite that’s funny...I forgot about that. This is like a Shakespeare play except with WW84 there are multiple levels of stupidity instead of meaning.

Now I didn’t really pick up on these supposed SJW messages some are claiming it was full of
I kind of thought Max was going to be more of Luther knock off. Instead just a scammer who had an extensive knowledge of ancient wish granting stones.

She didn't. She was asked if he's based on Trump. She didn't "push" anything.
quote:Which for some translates that she was out to get Trump.
When asked if Trump was an influence, Patty told Screen Rant: "He's one of them. I mean honestly, the funny thing is he is (an influence), but I'm not trying to make... We even have the president in this movie. I don't want to get political, it's not about being political."
The 49-year-old filmmaker added that a variety of people helped form the identity of Lord, who will pose a threat to Gal Gadot's titular character.
Patty explained: "Trump's definitely one of the people we looked at, but it's any of those kind of mavericks of business success that was big in the 80s. Who went on to be major players in our world in potentially questionable other ways.
"Yeah, I don't have an agenda to have a political message to send to the world, but I think that the world all needs the same political message. Everybody needs to look at themselves right now, and our politics, our belief system of excess."

Nothing in that quote even makes sense. I have no idea what she was trying to say.

My children thought the first Wonder Woman was cool, 15-30 minutes into this they all had ejected and started playing among us.
That is pretty damning for a super hero movie IMO.
