Oh man this movie was so bad. I guess I kind of ignored a lot of the shitty stuff as I stared at Gal Gadot.

Ok, we know this movie was a disappointment. To everyone.
I agree with that.
But, I think the comparisons to Iron Man 3 might be valid, and important. And for the record, I thought IM3 sucked bigtime.
But that was as a standalone movie; as an episode in a series (which is what the MCU is, basically), it had some major plot points going forward. Everything Tony did afterwards, it was established in IM3 why.
So on a serious note, what did we gleam from WW84?
1) Diana made the plane invisible... she's got Zeus-potential powers that she hasn't learned yet. Is lightning coming... seems like in the movies, we're heading that way.
2) so is she celibate, basically a nun now, after renouncing Steve? Or is she slowly drifting towards being on the market?
3) she gave up the only thing she wanted, for the greater good. Granted, the greater good was stopping a nuclear holocaust, otherwise she seemed fine with keeping Steve and becoming mortal. So what direction does this set her up, if there's a big battle against Darkseid down the road? Will she sacrifice herself for mankind? I mean, I'm sure she would, but does that end up being the case?
4) the Dreamstone should be back, since Lord renounced his wish to become it. Luthor was digging into her past, is this something he can get his weird little paws on (or did)? He didn't have it with Superman, or he'd have used it on him. But he might have a lead on it, or he possibly could have already made his wish (which opens the question of the consequences... which might be the attention of Darkseid).
5) Minerva isn't Cheetah anymore, but what about "like Diana"? Did she renounce both? Either? Did Lord renouncing his wish simply negate every wish he granted, but the rest are in play?

This what I think, comic books are for kids and so are these movies. I think most of you have just outgrown movies for kids.

So the sex & violence is for kids, is it?
Interesting.

For a lot of adults, these stories are part of our childhood. We just hate when the story gets ruined with poor writing, feminist empowerment, woke shite, etc

And it's happing all across the board. Star Wars, Doctor Who, Star Trek, Terminator series, Ghostbusters, the MCU, etc...
But as for WW specifically, most fans either don't know or are embarrassed to speak of the character's origins, and of the couple who dreamed her up in the first place. Think the woke gals are angry now ?

Stopped watching as soon as I saw the Operation Wolf arcade machine....not in 1984, nope, I'm out.
It amazes me when movie makers do this. OW came out in 87. Do your homework people!!!!

Commence the obvious gamer girl jokes here.
Patty Jenkins has become the living embodiment of what the feminists were angry of being accused of in the fake gamer gate controversy. 'Girls don't know video games ! '
Yes, they do!
Patty Jenkins: Hold my beer.

What parts of her origin are you referring to? I'm no expert on WW, but I thought she was made from clay.

I'm speaking more to the one who is credited for her origins, his wife, and their ' life partner'. Keyword: throuple.
And the not so subtle references to female bondage in the early WW comics.
Hey, maybe its hyped up, maybe not, I'm no expert. I just know a bit about it.

It was nowhere near as good as the first one. It was also nowhere near as bad as some of y’all are making it out to be.

It's not as bad as captain Marvel but mostly bc Gadot is more likeable. Story wise it's similar in that it doesn't really grip the audience.

I've not seen it. Probably won't. But there's no shortage of reviews trashing it, and they go deep into the problems with this movie.
From what I'm hearing, the story makes no sense. Even for a make believe comic book movie. It's overly long. Diana doesn't stay true to her character set up in the 1st movie and who is seen in later movies.
But there are some good parts, it seems.

Yeah there is a part where she is on a balcony and the camera pans in and it looks like the audience will see up her skirt. That part is good.

Literally the only reason I finished this movie
I had a feeling 5 minutes in this was going to be a snoozer & I was right. This was not a good movie. Gadot is pretty much a 10/10 though so they've got this going for them.

Captain Marvel made way more sense than this film.

Quick Question - I’m WW she used a sword and shield a lot. This one she never used it only the lasso deal. I’m not a comic book person and I barely remember one movie to the next so I’m just asking because it seems like she could have used it in Egypt.

Movie was meh.
OK at best. First one was light years better.
