This movie was absolute trash. It actually got worse with the action. It’s Iron Man 3 on steroids.

Iron Man 3 is a good movie.

Did I watch a wonder woman movie or a movie about suppressed rage and illogical inconsistencies?

You didn't take that as him wondering why he was talking to a stranger, as he had no idea that someone wished it?

I'm gonna watch it again but he was staring off into space like someone would if they had early alzheimers. Then he just kind of snapped back into reality. Reagan was rumored to have started symptoms during the 1984 presidential debates. So yeah it's not that far fetched to think the beginning of that scene was just that. Like I said I'll rewatch and you can keep your dickish comments to yourself.

It’s pretty good.

1) It begins to establish the character arc Tony Stark going nuts and paranoid from PTSD based on the events of The Avengers, which continues into Ultron, Civil War, and Endgame.

2) The humor is on point.

3) Best third act of any Iron Man stand-alone movie.

4) Trevor Slattery.

no way that was supposed to be Reagan and if it was...holy shite,

It was, I'm pretty sure they took a shot at his early alzheimers when wish guy walked into the room. He said something about thinking he was in a different place or something. That's what I took from it, maybe I'm wrong.
That's not the way I took it.

My interpretation was, he was most likely busy in some Command Center with the crisis at hand, and... suddenly he's in the Oval Office meeting with Max Lord. He and his staff were probably like WTF, I thought we were discussing Defcon levels a second ago. Which MIGHT be why he wishes for another 100 nukes, instead of global harmony and peace (spearheaded by the US of course).

It felt like they left a lot of the wish story underdeveloped. Who was this god that made the stone? Was it really just a bad prank by said god, or was there some darker motive?

How did Lord know about the stone, what had he done to purchase it? It seemed to be addressed to him already.

Aside from obtaining wealth, what else was in it for him? It seemed to be killing him.

That was poop. I can’t believe I got excited to watch this. Glad I didn’t pay for it.

As others have said, I thought DC was coming around as I like Aquaman and Shazaam, and really like the first Wonder Woman. This was just shite, from the story, to the action, to the characters, the terrible CGI, just all around pretty pathetic. It’s like it was made on a cheap budget by someone that has no idea what the 80s were like and has no idea what makes comic book movies great.

Why are people hung up on this? Just assume the kid is adopted or something
Should not need to assume key plot points. Looks like I missed the explanation but it was not obvious, especially given how important Lord’s upbringing was to his motivation.

Having jarring plot points, bad CGI, and wooden dialogue takes you out of the movie and makes you have to think out what you’re watching. The immersion is gone and you realize you’re watching a not-very-good movie.

So if that means I’m “hung up” on shitty moviemaking, so be it.

It was basically gratuitous 80's cheese. Like someone tried their best to conceptualize the 80's by what they read about it in a magazine.

When will 80s nostalgia porn end? Almost every single period film takes place in the 80s. Been this way since The Wedding Singer in 1998.

I would love to ask those who are running the DCU how they can get stories already written for them so wrong. You can do some woke/sjw stuff just don't be heavy handed with it. I mean, every white guy but Pine was rapey but we had the black homeless man as the moral compass. Come on man

I finished it tonight. Share everyone’s opinions about the movie. It was shite.

Thought Zimmer’s score was the bright spot. Good to see a DC hero have a good catchy theme again.

They straight up had a sequence that showed him being bullied by an a-hole father, then being bullied for being Latino, and then changing his name for the start of his business and that was after his partner called him by his real name which was clearly Latino. It was obvious as hell.

His kid being biracial has nothing to do with the plot so yes, you are getting partly hung up something that should not need to be explained. The only thing you need to know about his kid is that he truly loves him and is motivated to be a success so he doesn't grow up like he did. That aspect was made extremely clear.

They just left out the part where he finds out about a mystical stone that grants wishes and searches to find it

Yeah not even a hint of a backstory. Pine just mentions it casually in passing as they are searching his desk.

It was from thr Amazon's greatest warrior. It was used to hold off an army but apparently could not handle Kristen Wiig late for a try out to be in Cats

Stranger Things did it right bc it was subtle and genuine

WW84 was so damn wrong bc it was every 80’s cliche they could think of
