I thought for sure that the pagan spirit/demon that inspired the stone and its ring to be forged would reveal itself. Diana made a big deal of her reaction to discovering its name.
I kind of wondered if she meant the DC version of Loki but left him unnamed for obvious reasons. It could also have been Hermes/Mercury sticking w/Greek/Roman gods.

I think the worst part about this movie was that it was both bad and boring. At least with some terrible films they have good action so you are still somewhat entertained, this didn't even have that. What little action there was had terrible CGI. Not sure what the hell Jenkins spent her budget on with this flick.
Extremely disappointing given how solid the first movie was.

Just finished it. At a loss for words how bad this was. Wishes? Really?

Kept waiting for some plot or action or anything. But it never happened

And , from a nice little site called 'Bitch Media '.
“Wonder Woman 1984” Replaces Girl Power with Empty Platitudes
When Wonder Woman hit theaters in 2017, it was primed for success: Many were still reeling from Hillary Clinton’s shocking loss to Donald Trump, and audiences were therefore eager to escape into a universe where a woman emerges victorious against an absurd, masculine foe (David Thewlis as mustachioed villain Ares fit the bill). Critics deemed Wonder Woman “inspiring” and “touching.” Moviegoers reported crying during the film’s battle sequences, overcome with emotion as women warriors vanquished enemies in lockstep. Clinton herself praised Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins, remarking that the film was “just as inspirational as [she’d] suspected a movie about a strong, powerful woman in a fight to save the world from international disaster would be,” clearly drawing parallels between the titular heroine and herself.

Seems appropriately named.

I didn’t like it. It felt way more comic book like and not in a good way. Action was good I guess but not special. Villain was soft. Renouncing wishes was a lame payoff.
Dianna was not as likable. In WW1 she was naive and vulnerable and learned to “let go” and love made her stronger.
She starts this movie as pessimistic and cold and antisocial. Almost bitchy. She has to sacrifice her love to get her strength back then after beating the cheetah uses the whip to get every single person who made a wish to renounce it?
ETA: Even in BvS she was sultry and seductive and confident without being abrasive. This was a different character.
I don’t know man. I’m just not feeling this one.
Aside from it's other faults, the film makers not so subtle agendas were pretty annoying. Like a woman is better without a man
Not to mention
Men bad.
Capitalism bad
Guns bad
Walls bad
The imagery involved felt like propaganda

it’s a terrible movie. Sit through almost two hours of boredom for a totally underwhelming conclusion. Wigg wanted to be Sabretooth and Mando wanted to be insane, but love prevails? Oh, and WW learns to fly, does her Superman pose, and love. We should all hold hands, because love. This movie is crap.
Was wondering about her flying. Didn't realize WW did that

The success of Wonder Woman 2017 was not due to any parallels to political culture. It was successful because it was a good movie. (Except for the third act which wasn’t as good as the first 2/3rds of the movie.)

When was this implied?
If anything, Diana not renouncing he wish played right into the "women let emotions cloud their judgment" stereotype and it took a dude to snap her out of it.

no way that was supposed to be Reagan and if it was...holy shite,
It was, I'm pretty sure they took a shot at his early alzheimers when wish guy walked into the room. He said something about thinking he was in a different place or something. That's what I took from it, maybe I'm wrong.
The CGI right after she gets her powers back was some of the worst I've seen. Her running actually made me laugh out loud it was so fake.

Just watched Chris stuckmanns review and he rails on this movie pretty hard. I haven’t seen it and probably won’t but holy crap at some of the plot details he’s talking about. Movie sounds so bad

They screwed up her origin.
In the comics, Barbara Minerva gets her powers the way Black Panther gets his, but the ritual goes horribly wrong. Basically, she agrees to take on the role of guardian of a certain African tribe and drinks the potion...but because she isn't a virgin...
I didn't know that
Gee... I wonder why they didn't show that origin.

You didn't take that as him wondering why he was talking to a stranger, as he had no idea that someone wished it? It was a lame attempt to make this plot detail make sense, and it very clearly had nothing to do with Reagan.
They didn't give that president a name, any mannerisms or characteristics that resemble Reagan, or hire an actor that looks anything like Reagan, so I guess they were trying to take shots at Reagan. Totally makes sense.
