I was not aware of Diesel as morpheus. That sounds terrible

Vin Diesel was also slatted to be cast as Morpheus, but when Will passed on the opportunity and they made Neo white by casting Keanu, they decided to make Morpheus black and cast Fishburne, who I think did better than Diesel would have
Fishburne is obviously the better choice but this anecdote leaves me a little confused RE what color VD is supposed to be? Ecru?

The Matrix is one of my favorite movies, not sure that would be the case with Will and Diesel.

Not even "Will Smith in Freak Off" directed by P Diddy??
As long as it's unedited and in IMAX!!!!

I enjoyed the new Bad Boys film
I liked the first movie. Lower budget of course...
The second one is a dang good, hellafun action movie. Seen it many times back in the day. Crazy budget...

Did not know about Vin Diesel. Wow, that would've been a much different - not in a good way - movie.
I'm trying to imagine the dojo sparring scene with Smith and Vin Diesel instead of Reeves and Fishburne...
...I'm sorry, I just can't see either actor working it nearly as well.

the next 'Matrix' movie
What in the fanfiction is this about? They only made one, and it was in 1999.

next 'Matrix' movie
We're already up to 3 too many Matrix movies.
The last one was a gigantic mega-flop too.
How in the hell do studio executives read the spectacular bomb of the last movie into translating into desire for another one? Is the franchise being run by the same people as Terminator?

You don't say.

A whole new team. This is from last year

There will be another Matrix movie, but there will be no Wachowski director
Drew Goddard (The Cabin In The Woods) will direct the next Matrix movie

I don't think even a "good" Matrix movie would move the needle with audiences.
The original came out in 1999, that's over 25 years ago at this point and the two immediate sequels made money but were not well received and soured everyone on the franchise, as evidenced by how absolutely little traction the last movie got.
There's just no where to go with the original story or characters and nobody is interested in a reboot.

The Wachowski Brothers forgot what bathroom to use and have let their mental illness overtake their careers. No studio head in LA dares turn one of them down.

The Wachowskis are out. If it happens, it's with Drew Goddard now

No. I refuse to watch movies starring him.

Awesome. They can make the piece of shite movie they always intended.

Neo just walks around slapping Agent Smiths.

Will Smith was actually the first choice to play Neo, but he declined it in order to make (I shite you not) Wild Wild West. Almost certainly a Top 10 blunder of an actor of a role he didn’t take.
Yea but hindsight is 20/20. I don't think anyone expected The Matrix to do as well as it did. That's pretty evident by how the next 2 movies were just money grabs.

I thought I read where they were considering Val Kilmer as Morpheus when they thought Will Smith would be Neo.
