There is no way liberal Hollywood is going to green light an Oscar’s stunt portraying black on black violence.

Rocks right foot, after the slap, goes back and plants in a fighting position like he didn’t know if there was more to come from Smith. He also tilts his upper body back to create some distance. Those two combined were instinctive defense postures that occurred within a second of the slap and what you would see from anyone in that situation.

When I first heard of this and saw it my first thought was it was staged to artificially generate interest. But apparently there was already some bad blood between them that I didn't know about so I guess it's possible it was for real.
In reality I just don't know

Thought this was worth the addition. Saw this last night. It's David Spade and Dana Carvey who apparently do a podcast together (which sounds awesome btw) and they brought up the Smith/Rock thing. Obviously they've known Rock for decades and are buddies with him but their take here is pretty telling I think. I've NEVER heard Spade this serious before which sounds kind of strange coming from him.
But his as Dana's take that what they first thought of was when it happened was how all three of them had been little kids and were constantly bullied and how what happened just immediately brought them back to that and how they could see that on Rock's face when this big, popular movie star walked up and slapped him in the face and no one did anything.
They had obviously not talked to him yet, but notice how the thought that any of this would be fake never crosses either of their minds, because they know the man and know what it would mean for this to happen to him. I hadn't thought of this take either having always been the big kid that never dealt with this, so I found their view super interesting here.

Better get Oliver Stone to make a movie about this.

That was my thought about all this too. Chris had to deal with bullying and bs in his childhood. Now he is a rich, respected comedian and actor and he still gets popped in the face and everyone is comforting the bully.

If it wasn't fake then why hasn't Rock pressed charges against Smith with assault?

Yup...I guess I typed that out.
Pretty sure I was trying to type out:

If it matters, I did literally wake up on the couch last night at 4AM with no memory of how I got there having happily gone to sleep in my own bed at 10:30. BTW, does anyone else smell toast?

Because he's more of a man than Smith will ever be?

Because he doesn't want to look even weaker? A guy who EVERYONE in the WORLD knows is fine with guys fricking his wife just went on stage and emasculated him in front of "the cool kids" and no one said anything, and then later gave him an award and a standing ovation. Not to mention, the public is actually split over whether or not he DESERVED to get hit in the face on stage at The Oscars for telling a mild joke.
Also, keep this in mind. Remember when Smith first sat and and screamed the first time, Rock's answer to him was "It was a GI Jane joke!" Think about that for a second. He likely had no clue about any hair issues that crazy bitch has, just that she'd shaved her head and he was fricking with her about that. It's why he had no clue why what happened just happened or why he was STILL flipping out in his seat.
From all the standups I've heard talk about this, only Jim Carey suggested doing anything after the fact suggesting suing Smith for $200,000,000 but even he understood why Rock didn't pursue charges right then and there. But then he should not have been put in the position to HAVE TO press charges because The Academy should have had Smith escorted the frick out. But, as I've already speculated, there's no way they were gonna do that which put Rock in the shittiest position possible.

I wonder what a Venn diagram would look like with Q believers and those that believe that this slap was staged.

I’m not reading through the whole thread, but has anyone brought up the fact that Pfizer was a sponsor of the Oscars and they have a new drug for alopecia coming out?
That’s one of the more entertaining conspiracy theories I’ve seen.
