Why did Don Draper sleep around on Betty season 1?

They were not married long. Lets face it, Better was not only beautiful but she was sexy AF. She also straight told him mid season that all she thought about all day was ballin with him at night. She was DTF
Im sorry, there was no reason to cheat on her other than he was a POS. And I know later in the seasons she turned into a crazy bitch but early on, she was there for the taking

Pretty much this. Most of the characters in the show are trash, and it's why I could never get into it. I didn't care about any of them. Perfect set and costume design, but I didn’t care about any of the storylines at all.

He didn’t respect Betty. Out of the first two women we see him cheat on her with, one is an artist and the other runs her own business. Plus, one of the scenes where he was on the couch with Rachel he says that “this is all there is” when talking about life. He could get that feeling with Betty sometimes, but not enough to fill the void.

Yes, she was probably shitty in bed
But Don still would have cheated. His childhood and emotional intimacy aside, they all cheated. There is no alternate reality where a guy as handsome and successful as DD is the only dude around that can stay faithful.

Childhood was big. Dude was raised in a brothel. He was going to end up being a free love type at best, or a prostitute murderer at worst (not that there's anything wrong with that). Given his childhood and what happened in Korea, Don turned into a relatively good guy.
The chicks he cheated with in S1 weren't nearly as hot as Betty though. The California chick in the rich "commune" was a smoke show doe. I can't find a pic that does her justice.
