marky mark beat the shite out of a vietnamese shopkeeper
noel coward would've opposed him emigrating here in the first place and campaigned for quota restrictions

no mention of Kris Kristofferson yet?

Conan O'Brien happens to be a damn good bluegrass guitar player, but I doubt you'd say that he's a star in that genre.
Terry Gilliam from Monty Python, as an animator director?
And wouldn't you mean, multi-media star? genre would be like horror vs comedy.

Steve Martin gets a nod. Amazing comedian, a surprisingly good writer, and can play the bejeezus out of some bluegrass banjo.
Good one
I'd also include Woody Allen: writer, director, actor, author, playwright, clarinet player

Steve Martin
Writes books
Writes magazine articles
Writes screenplays
Acts, sometimes in good movies and quite well
Can play the frick out of some banjo
Was, IMO, a great standup comedian
I'd go with Steve.
ETA: Woody Allen gives Steve Martin a run for his money, but loses points for the whole Soon Yi thing. Not because she's his stepdaughter, but because she has a face like a dinner plate.

Ice Cube and Prince
I would add the creators of SouthPark. The animate, direct, create, and have a bad arse band on the side.

Clint Eastwood is actor, director, composer, and pianist. And he's still going strong at 100.
