I'll also add that Sam Rockwell was awesome in the few minutes we got of him. What a great character he created in such a short amount of time
That roll chasing Rick in the hotel hallway had me

Victoria Ratcliff character might turn into a cult icon or something. She was great, haha

I didn’t think about that as someone without kids. However I think the series brings out the fundamental good and bad in everyone, just strange so many on here would find even that cause for Belinda to die in Thailand
Throughout the series she’s easily one of the more decent humans. Still that’s a good point on what a terrible parenting move that was.

Now that it’s all said and done, Rick pissed me the frick off. He starts out the episode leaving his friend to relapse and fall back into debauchery (glad we got a shot of him back in the temple at the end) and then instead of getting the frick out of Thailand he goes back to the resort OWNED BY THE GUY YOU JUST ASSAULTED and just decided to chill for another day like it’s no problem.
Then, you run into the guy again, and he STILL gives you a second chance to get out. Rick could have gotten Chelsea, explained that it’s time to go, and it ends there. But no, he has to sit and brood and then go fricking kill the guy, resulting in the deaths of at least 5 people (himself, Chelsea, his dad and I think 2 guards), plus I’m sure major PTSD for Sritala, the manager and the cougar trio. Just horrible decision making that could have totally been avoided.
Not to mention the therapist who will now live with the guilt of not talking to him immediately, thinking she could have prevented it.

Where did Kate know Victoria from?!? We just going to act like that never happened?
Chelsea was too good for this show.

I read an interview with Mike White and he's considering Australia as the setting for season 4. He says there won't be a cold weather setting because he hates the cold. He also wants a different continent for each season, and since Antarctica isn't an option that leaves S. America, Africa, and Australia/Oceania.
I liked this season. Mike White writes characters, narcissistic characters, so well. Season 1 is my least favorite because I hated those two teenage girls that their cadavers would have been the only saving grace of the season.
Mook? She was beautiful but manipulative. She didn't deserve a nice guy like Gaitok.
Yes, she is.
I agree. As stated above, there was a lot about Season 1 that was so good but it's my least favorite. Not every storyline clicked this year but I enjoy watching the characters that White creates.

The one person on the show who didn’t deserve that (outside of maybe Mook as well).

This season was just as good as S1, and maybe even slightly better.

Within 5 minutes of being back in America, she’s in the drive thru at Walgreens calling a minority pharmacy technician a slur because her Ativan is 3 weeks early to refill bc she “lost” them

I did not know that Rockwell is married to the short haired blonde in the cougar trio.

Man it felt like some of these final storylines struggled to get the bow tied on them
The one I can’t get over is the Lochley or however you spell the young son’s name. They’ve made him into a total doormat, but hopefully they don’t also make him into a dumbass. It should take him 5 seconds to figure out that the smoothie that almost killed him had remnants of the pina colada his dad tried to kill everyone else in his family with
Tough one to get over

It’s still my favorite show, but I thought it was a huge letdown last night
Walt’s character had so much more to explore and it felt rushed.
So what happened to the NC family? I wish we would’ve gotten some closure on that. Everything just felt rushed.
I think the three girls storyline ended up being the worst. Nothing really happened in the end.

I would agree if not for Coon’s amazing monologue last night. Their storyline deserved to be there.
Overall I echo what RLDSC and Cokes posted. Enjoyed the season a lot. There were multiple episodes that had me on edge far more than past seasons.

The shootout was very weak. Could’ve been choreographed way better

Maybe I missed it, but had she agreed to do that with him?

I don’t get why everyone is saying Belinda is acting like a bad person? She’s known Pornchai for like a week and they had one conversation about starting a business before she got 5 million dollars. Leaving Thailand was 100% the right decision for her
I'm more talking about her essentially breaking it off with him and peacing out of Thailand now that she got her bag of cash. I realize they've known each other for about a week, so I'm less talking about fricking him over business-wise. But she was supposed to be there for a while and they were learning shite from each other and she seemed to be possibly onboard with getting into business with him. Had he been the one with the money, it seems like he'd have been all in for continuing (at the very least) a business relationship with her, and likely a personal one as well. But as soon as she gets money she bounces.
Also, I fully admit that my stance relies heavily upon my hatred of her as a character (as well as her son).
And I fully agree with this take:
quote:
Belinda's fricked up thing was bringing her son to meet and involve him with a guy she thought murdered someone to negotiate the buyout.
That's top tier bad mothering.

Mike white loves to cast minority women and make them seem like the good guys but then lets money corrupt them.
The Thai chick this season, Sydney Sweeney’s friend season 1 and Belinda this season.
In reverse he cast the preppy white guy as Shane, hotel completely fricks him over and people still side with the hotel cause they rather not side with an spoiled white boy

I thought it was strange they barely touched the thieves subplot but strong close. Would have enjoyed the family melt over the financial fraud going further.
Agree with both of those points. The robbery angle was glossed over and Gaitok is a bad person in the end because he gets what he wants in the security detail, but lets Valentin and his boys get away with robbery.
The biggest letdown of the season for me was not getting more information or resolution from the Ratliff family and all of Tim's illegal bullshite. Every single episode hinged around that and what he would do either to himself or his family, and literally all we got was a "Hey, guys...things are about to change, but we'll figure it all out" statement from him. I didn't expect to see a trial or anything, but I figured we'd at least get some sort of closure with it.

One thing I did realize is that Belinda has now been transformed into Tanya. She’s now filthy rich and flakes on a new acquaintance with the line “I’m not ready to commit yet”
Doesn’t bode well for her season 4 fate
Great call. And I would be ALL IN if she dies.
