She needs him. It’s her journey and she gets nowhere without him. Her journey isn’t complete without him.
That’s what I said, part of her job was to get him and bring him to Tefiti, she accomplished that

He got caught up her problem because he got stuck on an island. His journey was complete the moment he got off that island. If you want to nitpick, you can say it was after he got his Samoan sword back from ole shiny boy, either way, his journey was complete 45 minutes in. He could have dipped and she would have been screwed.
And yet she was able to get him to continue on their quest

Tangled
criminally underrated
Tangled gets better every time I watch it. I legitimately don't know how it could be improved - it's funny, the action scenes are great, the songs are great, the characters are memorable, it's fairly short with a quick pace - only taking a minute to breath when they reach the city.
As far as recent Disney goes, I've got
1. Tangled
2. Frozen
3. Moana
4. Wreck-It Ralph
5. Zootopia
Frozen 2 and Ralph Breaks the Internet were nigh-unwatchable trash that I made it through once and have no interest in watching again. I still haven't watched Big Hero Six, but I assume it would easily be top 5 and probably challenge top 3.
The original Frozen gets hated on a lot but I think it's a home run. I love all the songs, I love the plot twists and evolution of the story. Olaf is annoying, but so is a character in every kids movie. "Let It Go" got overplayed...because it's a fricking stand out incredible song. I never really get tired of my toddler watching it.

Not really, he was the one who stole the heart to begin with and set in motion the whole thing. He needed to restore it and redeem himself.

Disagree.
That scene with venelope and the rest of the Disney princesses is great.

Place called Slaughter Race was great, but that was a classic case of a meh movie being elevated by a handful of great moments.

Yeah he could have dipped and enjoyed a lovely eternity in the darkness once the world was swallowed by it if she failed in restoring the heart that he stole.

Moana is my favorite Disney movie. Really one of my favorite movies period. I love the bright graphics and every song.

Having the grand kids overlast night we watch Moana, Frozen and now Frozen 2
Moana is my favorite. It seems happier and I enjoy the music.

still think it’s funny that women hold it, Frozen, and Mad Max:Fury Road up as great movies that feature exceptional independent female protagonists when in reality, the female heroines would have been done 20 minutes into the movie without the male lead, but whatever.
You're talking about dumb internet's conversation with itself, not women. Fury road isn't exactly popular with women in general.
Female leads can be strong even when there are supporting characters. That's how plots usually work. We're talking about movies, not one-person stage shows.

I liked The Princess and The Frog.

Watching Little Mermaid now. I know it’s unfair to compare the animation but the bright colorful Moana is such a joy in comparison. Plus the lively catchy songs.

Moana is great and way better than Frozen. Unfortunately the little girls have made Frozen into something much bigger than Moana

The animation was lovely to look at, but other than that, I pretty much hated everything about Moana.
I’m actually kinda shocked to see all of these positive responses. The barely hidden male bashing symbolism of Moana was like a constant fire hose of spiteful feminism right to the face.
This guy nails it:

The songs are in the tier with Lion King, Beauty and the Beast, and Little Mermaid.

Moana is great. Way better than Frozen and Frozen 2 (Elsa is a terrible queen and an even more terrible sister. I hate Elsa.)
I think I like Tangled more though. Tangled is funnier and slightly more rewatchable than Moana IMO, but Moana is sstill fantastic.

Is an objectively better movie than Frozen. Elsa is a horrible character.
