I think people are making too big a deal of it.
We all knew this was going to happen, and that relationships would be enhanced (they have to, they suck in the books), changed a little, and things that are alluded to like pillow friends would be more prominent.
I really don't think its the thing to attack the show about.

Meh. It's just one more thing IMO.

My point wasn't that the relationship with Thom is less likely because of the persistence of Morraine's woman-inclusive sexuality, but rather because y'all have described her as having a deep ongoing lifelong heart-felt soulmate romantic kinda relationship with the AS already.
I don't see how you can work "my dearest Thom" into that.

To be fair, Moiraine/Thom absolutely sucks in the books, so I have no problem with this change especially if it foretells them getting rid of the later relationship.
I dont get the melting over Moiraine/Suian. Its from the books, it makes perfect sense in the context of the show, it adds character depth to both moving forward, and the way it ends leaves everything on the table moving forward.
I feel like people complaining about this cannot really be taken seriously anymore as they clearly just want to hate on the show.

It’s comments like these that make people not take you seriously. Fundamental relationships in the source material are important to the fans and the integrity of the story. Saying people having issues with this should not be taken seriously is straight up stupid. While I think it’s not as egregious as some other changes, it still is unnecessary and annoying. Meanwhile it is more important to others.
It sounds like you just didn’t like their relationship in the books. Regardless of your opinion if that, it was a deep, strong one between them that was obvious in the first book, and it was critical to their roles in the entire series. Just because you didn’t approve doesn’t mean it should be changed or eliminated.

I liked that a lot. Rand is showing up. Liked Min much more than I thought I would. Also really enjoyed the sequence of him figuring out he was the dragon, that was well done.
What the frick was that egwene/perrin/rand drama? Whatever, seems like it was over with 3 scenes later.

The vast majority of fans do not like that relationship and it certainly isnt a core relationship to the books. Its a big pile of nothing that was thrown in for happy ever after bs. If you liked it, great, but the show moving on from that is a positive change for the majority of the fandom.
There are plenty of legitimate critiques, but the problem is so many are made up nonsense that it loses the people all credibility.

I’ll give it one more chance in episode 8 but damn I’m getting sick of this days of our lives BS for half the damn episode that doesn’t advance shite for the story. I’m fine with the production and everything but hell the writing is crap and with just 8 episodes they are writing it as if there’s like 20 episodes

I liked this episode quite a bit but that whole bit felt so forced it felt jarring and out of place. It was completely unnecessary.

This episode was fricking awesome. Best yet by far.

It's annoying as hell. They'll have a scene that's perfect like the dragonmount scene, and then they spend 15 minutes on CW level relationship bullshite. It completely takes you out of the show.
They rushed the hell out of the Rand reveal, it would have been so much better if they spent another 2-3 minutes to have a proper flashback with Rand and Tam in the woods. Instead they spent forever on that half arse love triangle BS.

Pretty much my feelings exactly. The stifled acting and the lack of immersion into this world has left me disappointed. Ah well.

I feel like they havent done the best job of prioritizing which scenes to keep when the show got changed from 10 to 8 episodes.

Nynaeve and Lan are fricking already? Expected Min to be a little younger.

yeah while I think the actress did a good job, she looks about 10-20 years older than she 'should'

Both of these.
I've made my thoughts known here on how I think they are severely fricking the Lan/Nynaeve romance up by rushing it (and by making Lan too emotional) so their banging it out already being piss-poor is a given for me.
Glad I wasn't the only one to think Min looked too old. I don't remember their referencing her age in the books but I always felt she was younger than Rand.

Non reader wife loved it. I did too. I had to explain a bit of context with the Ways, Min, etc. but she and I both could tell a better production value. I know 7 and 8 were filmed almost a year later. but I'd say 6 and 7 shared the same as well.
Min is hotter than I thought she'd be

Min is several years older than Rand. She brings it up all the time in the books.
You can also look at birth years on the wiki, Min is about the same age as Nynaeve, but Nynaeve has started the slowing so looks slightly younger.

Part of what made their relationship in the books so good was their sexual tension that lasted until Moraine was out of the picture.
I know Min is older than Rand, but she looks to be a good 10+ years older in the series.

lol wat
Almost all of the relationships in the books are trash, pretty much the entire fandom agrees with that.
Its handled EXTREMELY poorly in Eye, it comes out of almost no where and has really no basis for it. Later books its well done but initially it is very bad.
