Has to be Lava right? I don’t think I can watch it without my eyes getting a little moist. Such a simple and sweet and beautiful piece of art.

Also, I think Piper is great. It’s a little bit more fun and comedic but it’s so cool looking.

Those have to be my favorites I think

I do love Lava. But because I love the song and how catchy it is. Not because it makes me cry. Plus, the a-hole in me busted out laughing when the girl volcano came out the water but couldn’t see him because she was facing the wrong way.

I also love Boundin’ for the same reason. Super catchy.

But as for the best/my favorite, I will second Geri’s Game. It’s genius.

For the Birds has always been my favorite

Geri's Game is really good too. Back when we could laugh at senile old men in the park.

Presto is my favorite. Lifted is hilarious as well.

My wife and I love Piper.

The water looks unreal. It's a fantastic advertisement for their animation engine.

Which is all the shorts really are anyway.

Lava is great. I've always been partial to La Luna.

The key to them all is no dialogue. The story is told through imagery and expression and emotion. Being able to tell stories this way teaches writers and artists about the power of filmmaking. Without the shorts you don’t get the beginning of UP or Wall-E.

Geri’s Game is the best from an overall perspective. Lifted, Presto, For the Birds, and Partly Cloudy had me rolling. Lou, Piper, La Luna, Lava, and the Blue Umbrella are great storytelling shorts as well with Piper and the Blue Umbrella having unreal (re: real) visuals.

I don't know the title, but my wife and I really love the one where the guy has a dog and feeds him from the table, meets a woman, has a baby, and now the dog gets food that is dropped by the baby. Really hits home for us.

I liked Knick Knack about the snowman trying to escape his snowglobe to get to a mermaid in another globe. I love when he lights the cutting torch and shoots him out of frame.

Apparently some designer gave her giant jugs in the original that were drastically reduced in the rerealease. Lol

I'll add: Jack-Jack Attack

I loved the Incredibles so much when it first came out, I really didn't want it to end.

Then to get that short extra scene that hilariously explained why Jack-Jack's babysitter was so frazzled, for me, it was the perfect addendum to a perfect action-comedy animation.

nevermind, this wasn't a Pixar short, it was a Disney short leading into Big Hero 6
