He was responsible for millions of deaths. Many at his own hand.

Pardon?
Jail?

Pretty intriguing

IDK it was a script. Write what you want to happen and it'll happen

All Jedi end up hiding in a cave or swamp or island. He'd have done the same.

He would be sentenced to live in a remote hut in a desert with coarse, medium grain sand and a constant wind blowing it everywhere.

He would have said that Darth Vader did all of that so he was innocent.

Ghost Obi-Wan would have testified as an expert witness that Anakin Skywalker had ceased to exist once he became Darth Vader.

Rian Johnson would’ve brought him back and made him pink.

He would have been brought to trial and eventually sent to the electric chair.

He knew this.

Either way Vader was getting executed to death so he chose to try and save face and go out a hero instead of a convict.

That way no one but Luke would see him if he shite his pants.

At least that’s the story Kylo will learn from Luke’s ghost in Ep 9.

There was no central gov't. And even if there were, who would have been capable of arresting him? There was only one person.

Pretty sure Han would have shot at him again getting off his imperial ship when he showed up to the Ewok party.

Reflexes.

Don't forget that Luke fired the kill shot on the first Death Star. While there are no official numbers; it is estimated there were over 1 million crew on it.
