What the hell is with people starting threads to bash popular movies lately?

Jesus Hubert Christ, I feel like every new thread is bashing a recent, popular flick.
Is there something in the water that's making people all Negative Nancy today?

On the first page there are 3 threads bashing: 1) Star Trek; 2) Ted; and 3) Skyfall.
I'm just wondering why people are populating the forum with threads the purpose of which is to hate on a movie that's popular with the masses.

I don't know, seems more than usual. Feels like we have a negative vibe on the board going into the weekend. Feels like people need to chill out and watch Weekend at Bernies or something.

I started a thread today bashing that terrible, terrible JJ Abrams 2009 Star Trek film.
I've also been all over the Die Hard thread praising the original film.

Why is there this need to bash "movie snobs". I'm sure I'd count as one of our movie snobs, and I hadn't posted in any of those threads. And most of us who love movies... LOVE MOVIES. We're far more apt to praise things. Sure, we have things we bash (my campaign against Wes Anderson for example), but we like movies and love to praise them.
Hell, I just re-did the Oscars through the 1980s to honor more films. Sure, I ripped on a few nominations and awards, but largely, the tone was positive. As people have pointed out those I didn't honor, I've largely agreed those movies deserved praise as well, there just wasn't enough room to praise them all.
And there are multiple threads right now devoted to how awesome Die Hard is.

I was beating Abrams up in the Star Wars thread, too. That movie isn't out yet, so I'm not sure the thread strictly meets your criteria.
