I think jrodlsu was specifically referring to the "scary movie" type of parody movies (ex: Epic Movie, Superhero Movie).

Although, I do understand your point about TRUE parodies. And all the ones that you've listed are really great.

I Don't know why this genre hasn't been mentioned yet. Hostel, & ever SAW film from 3 onward is nothing but gross torture crap. I have no clue why/how people actually like to watch this stuff.

Tie for me between dancing/musical and rom-com. I won't watch a movie in either of those genres. I'm so close-minded

Really the only guy I can think of on the top of my head these days who does romcoms well is Judd Apatow. I like his even if they do get sappy at the 2/3rds mark. Take him and his posse out of the equation and the current quality of the genre goes down dramatically.

Any kind of dumbass cheerleader crap like Bring It On. Holy god, I can't imagine who could possibly find that compelling. Even a teenage girl would have to eventually be like "Come on. Another Bring It On movie? Hell no! frick that."

It has to take real effort to aim that low.
