1. Seinfeld (clear cut #1 for me)
2. The Cosby Show
3. The Wonder Years
4. Night Court
5. The Office (U.S. version)

Just behind those I'd put Saved by the Bell and the old TGIF shows (Full House, Step by Step, Family Matters, Boy Meets World, Perfect Strangers, etc).

I was born in 1982

1. The office
2. Freaks and geeks. This would probably be an easy number one if it had 2-3 more seasons.
3. Parks and Recreation
4. Workaholics
5. Having a hard time with this one. I know it's nothing that was ever on CBS. Friends maybe. Fresh Prince. Eh I don't know.

My list is the same (not in any order), but add Andy Griffith as a 6th.

I don't know if cartoons are considered sitcoms, or are they?

If cartoons aren't considered sitcoms, I'd go with (in no particular order):

Scrubs
Friends
Seinfeld
Cheers
Andy Griffith
(Honorable mention - Cosby, Married with Children & Three's Company)

If cartoons count as sitcoms, I'd throw South Park in there.

ETA: I forgot to say I was born in 1976.

I think most people would have South Park on the list if we are counting cartoons. Hell, I could come up with just a list of cartoons that would be awesome in its own right.
South Park
Archer
Simpsons (season 1-10)
Space Ghost Coast to coast
robot chicken

I forgot to mention The IT Crowd earlier. Not done with the show, but it's hilarious.

I don't think so... or Simpsons would definitely be on my list.

No order:

Friends
Seinfeld
The Office
Home Improvement
The Fresh Prince

Just started Season 6 of How I Met Your Mother, but I'm not sure it would replace any of those for top 5.

I've only seen episodes of Cheers, but I'm sure it would be right up there had I seen them all.
