Gonna start a Mount Rushmore series for actors/actresses and see if it takes off.

For simplicity’s sake, we will count the Mission Impossible franchise as one movie. Let’s do this!

Rain Man
The Color of Money
Mission Impossible
Edge of Tomorrow

Maverick and Ethan Hunt are locks imo.

The other two I had trouble deciding between Caffey (AFGM), Mackey (Magnolia), Vincent (Collateral), and Algren (Last Samurai).

ETA: I’m assuming you’re asking about Mt Rushmore of his characters/performances, not movies. Because I don’t consider Magnolia a “Cruise movie” and would replace Magnolia with Collateral or Samurai if so.

ETA: Since AFGM and Magnolia are both in the 90s, I’ll bump Caffey and replace with Vincent so he’ll have one from each of the four decades 80s-2010s

Holy shite, speaking of, Taps came out December 81, which means Cruise really is knocking on the door of 40 years of work. Incredible

Born on the Fourth of July (this is the best work he has ever done and its not close)

Edge of Tomorrow (beats out Mission Franchise just because of part II and Edge is totally awesome)

Minority Report (totally awesome movie and what it had predicted and done before the iphone and digital world totally took off)

Collateral (beats out Few Good Men and Rain Man only slightly since i only have 4 choices)

By characters... mhmm.

Ethan Hunt is def #1.
#2: AFGM
#3. Samurai
#4. Minority Report/Edge of Tomorrow is an even split.
