The Big Chill. God, that boomer bullshite was so in love with itself.

Speaking of Boomers.
Easy Rider.
Nothing happens, they're all total losers but the most important thing in the world and what they're doing (really nothing but riding and taking drugs) is the most important thing in the world.
The guy who even wrote a book about the cultural legacy of the film sounds like pretentious fool...
"You can love it. You can hate it. You can even mock it, at your peril. But, like only a few other things in history, Easy Rider doesn't belong to poets, or critics, or journalists who tell us what to like."
The frick?
Easy Rider is so above everything in artistic history that you can't criticize it for being a mediocre film with actually little to say - despite all the talking that goes on?
This to me is the Magnum Opus to Boomers loving themselves some Boomer.
It oozes with Boomer pretention of how important they thought they were in the 60's...
And they changed nothing, they just became older, Alan Alda worshiping types, sweater wearing mid-life crisis bemoaning Big Chill guys.

Make your own way in life instead of bitching about the rest of us. Want to change the world? Quit being a little pussy. That’s a great first step.

Because people here are just saying things they don't like.
And now people are yelling about boomers for some reason.

Easy Rider.
I love how the evil rednecks just mindlessly, spontaneously kill them, at the camp and on the bikes at the end. Remember, this was totally believable to naive audiences who hadn't been exposed to decades of filth culture, like we have.

The New World. I’d love to punch Terrence Malick in the face. His movies are beautifully shot though. I feel like his movies would make for good screen savers.

This above all others. It's enough to make a Boomer hate Boomers.

The Godfather. It insists upon itself.
Seriously though, Garden State is horrible. Every so often I would watch it thinking it was deep because I was young and dumb. Now if I want to listen to Frou Frou, I save myself 2 hours by watching the video on YouTube.

We need a caption that pic.
"We're taking this picture because we're the most important generation ever...and take a picture of our wine, it's probably the greatest vintage ever so we should be happy but Nixon ruined our lives...except for our homes and Beamers.
"We don't always smug but when we do, we want it to be the guy in the middle."

Yours was spot on. After seeing it and kicking it around with the future Mrs. M. I told her my theory that even the worst film had at least one redeeming scene was torn asunder and forever destroyed. The film nearly made the soundtrack unbearable.
"...except for our homes and Beamers."
Priceless.

Black oppression by whitey movies. So smug.
Will these ever go out of favor?

I just saw recently a preview for a movie about Harriet Tubman and the Underground Railroad.
In answer to your question: no, they'll be around as long as Progressives can use them as propaganda and to scrape the scabs off of wounds that should long ago have been healed. If academicians will distort and manipulate science, and distort and rewrite history to further the Progressive's Globalist's agenda be sure Hollywood will be working with them hand in glove.

I’ll throw in Ghost Story too. I actually thought it was a pretty solid flick, but the movie is 90 minutes and 7 minutes of it is the actress silently eating a slice of pie...

Although I don’t disagree with your assessment of Easy Rider, I think your history is a bit off. The Civil Rights movement was a rather big deal.

This won't be popular here, but I might also suggest Inception.
M/TV is too busy sucking Nolan's dick to realize it was mostly bullshite.
