Agreed. This was the most unnecessarily brutal killing I've seen. So out of tone with the rest of the movie, even with bunches of other people getting eaten by dinosaurs.

One that stands out to me was “The Missing” when the Indians capture Aaron Eckhart slowly smoke him to death. You only see the aftermath of his smoked head, but the daughter describes him screaming for hours as it occurred. That would be a long painful death.
