Vader/Anakin was always a pussy at heart. At least if you accept the prequels as cannon.
But he did have a big part in almost wiping out the Jedis. And the Sith as well. (His 5 minute change of heart did not nearly redeem him for all the kids and others he killed though, IMO).

Isn't Darth Vader the main villain the Star Wars. What kind of question is this

Qui Gon seemed to think he was going to be some sort of saviour and messiah through the Force, and was bound and determined to train him due to "the prophecy". Well, he misread that shite.
He wiped out the Jedi Order, "a force for good for over a thousand years", and was intrumental in destabilizing a previously strong Republic. Palpatine needed him to eliminate the Jedi and remove democracy from the equation. Due to him, billions died.
He then killed the Emperor, but that didn't eliminate the Dark Side users, as Snoke and Ren have surfaced less than a full generation later; this time without an organized Light Side group to oppose them.
He seems to be an instrument of chaos, nothing more to be remembered for.

He imposed the emperor's will and wiped out the Jedi. And he was also one of the scariest mf'ers in the galaxy.

He told Vader to stop force choking the guy in a new hope and Vader listened

Even though Yoda questioned the misreading, I don't think Qui Gon did, he just had no idea the path it would take for Anakin to do so.
But yeah, in one stroke he saved the Republic and eliminated the Galactic Empire. I'd call that a savior if I were a Rebel.

No one else has had as much of an impact on both sides as much as Vader has. Even now the products of his bloodline continue to impact.
It's not that he misread, probably just could not comprehend.

Tarkin was in command but Vader was the muscle. The emperor knows that Vader is too unstable so he prefers the leadership skills of Tarkin.
Probably about right.

Brought balance to the force (in both directions). Raised Empire awareness of asthmatics.

Who's the best pilot in the galaxy? Solo, Luke Skywalker, or Vader/Anakin Skywalker?

Did he misread it or did the rest of the Jedi? The Clone Wars makes me think Qui Gon had an idea all along of what was to come.

Solo
Has no help in Force, drives a POS and out-maneuvers smaller & more efficient vehicles with trained pilots.
Can do it in an asteroid belt.

The same POS that is the fastest ship in the Galaxy? Looks can be deceiving

I think it is painfully obvious that Imperial troopers are pretty poorly trained. I mean they can't even shoot.

Star Wars is essentially a story about Anakin Skywalker.
How can you overthink this? The whole story is him.

That's why they are storm troopers. I dont know, seems that to be such a threat in the galaxy, there has to be some competence somewhere.
