None of the four leads in Requiem for a Dream die.
It is the most depressing movie ever, unless you're a fan of electroconvulsive therapy, amputation, prostitution, or hard labor.

Yeah the initial response had that and I realized none of the main characters die (although I think one does when the Wayans character ends up in that shootout but that's being nitpicky).
Fun fact: Upon watching RFAD the first time I immediately rewound it and watched it again. I think the only other movie I had ever done that with was Major League (as a child). It was just something that I had never seen before and it ended so intensely I had no idea what happened and thought it best to go back to the beginning.

"The Blind Side" when he signs with Ole Miss.

Has a death in it. Jumper on Verrazano Narrows bridge. Agree that it’s depressing otherwise for the reasons you mentioned.

Everything Must Go was a depressing Will Ferrell movie. Came out in 2010 don’t think many watched it

It technically doesn't have a death
Great movie and great answer. Still blows my mind Mickey didn't win the Oscar that year.

I don’t remember if anyone died or not but The Banshees of Inisherin is very depressing.

In the Company of men
Requiem for a Dream
The whale … fraser’s character does die, but even if he didn’t that movie would still be depressing AF.

Manchester By the Sea. Technically it does have deaths, but deaths that contribute to the mindset of Casey Affleck’s character, and they only have flashbacks to them. It’s a tough movie to watch, but it was a great movie.
I get your distinction
but this movie is so much about death and specific death at that, that everyone knows exactly what it's about and I refuse to watch it as a result

A little piece of me dies every time Milton doesn't get a piece of cake...

The Favourite—while a lot of the action is played up for laughs, it’s really sad how they all manipulate Queen Anne to get what they want. Everyone ends up unhappy.

Immediately comes to mind. I remember seeing this in the theater with my buddy and we didn't talk one time. By the end of the movie our mouths were agape and we just sat there for a few minutes after and finally were like WTF.
Glengarry is GOAT for salespeople. I was in hard sales at one point in my life and this movie was required learning. So many memorable lines. Every salesperson knows, "the leads are weak!"

Requiem for a Dream is the most depressing I can remember. I have never rewatched it, and I’m pretty certain I never will.

Jack Lemmon was dreadfully bad as Marcellus in Kenneth Branagh’s Hamlet.

Also, since I already posted about Office Space once, this popped up, is both movie and sports related, and I couldn't think of anywhere else to put it...
