Closest to Ian Fleming's actual physical description of bond.

If Nolan does do this, Cillian Murphy will be Bond. And we should all be thankful.

Henry Cavil would be perfect.

Unfortunately, the Bond franchise seems to be under assault like all the classic Disney movies in that there's an inexplicable urge to 'remake' it into something its creator never intended. If there's a market for a movie franchise featuring a black trans disabled spy with a nut allergy, by all means go ahead and make it, but leave this character alone.

Barbara is a bitch whose vagina most likely reeks of rotten calamari.

She's already fricked the franchise up with her "woke" bullshite. Female 007 (who made former alpha Bond look like a beta bitch), black Money Penny, black Felix Leiter, a homo Q and best of all, Bond can't frick women anymore because a spy who'll do anything to get the job done suddenly draws the line at seducing women now. Just because men won't frick you Barbara doesn't mean men and women still don't court each other for sex.

Her dad should have pulled out.

Why is Tom Hardy getting downvoted?

1) he's british
2) worked with Nolan
3) he can portray a badass on screen

I'd like to see it.

It might be because Hardy physically doesn’t match the novels’ description of Bond, which is what the OP asked.

I think Hardy would be good, because he’s a fantastic actor. I don’t think his take on the character would be a very traditional James Bond, however.

The question is who would make the most book accurate Bond. Not who we think would be the best modern Bond.

Hardy doesn’t really fit this:

quote:

In the novels (notably From Russia, with Love), Bond's physical description has generally been consistent: slim build; a 3 in (76 mm) long, thin vertical scar on his right cheek; blue-grey eyes; a "cruel" mouth; short, black hair, a comma of which rests on his forehead.

Hiddleston fits the description pretty well.

Hiddleson would be awesome, however, he would have to deeply get into method acting to shake the Loki character traits. He would have to immerse himself so completely with a different set to his face so that people will not see Loki as Bond. Few actors can pull this off. Loki has been in the public eye for quite some time now.

Cavil looks like a super hero. Bond was a spy who got beat up, tortured severely, yet survived. M sent him on a retreat to pull himself together, cut back on his drinking and smoking, and build his health and stamina…then got pulled right back in with a murder attempt on his life. If Cavil can pull off not looking like a body builder but a 1950s WWII OSS vet cum spy with a normal body, then he should do it.

Suits were somewhat baggy, so Bond shouldn’t be decked out like Cavil’s snappy Napoleon Solo (loved him as Solo).

If Nolan does a period piece I think he would do good. No cell phones, no Uber, no special technology, no hang gliding, sky diving, driving boats across a road, rocketing out to space, you get what I mean. It was a brutal world by methods which seem primitive to us, but they worked. Nolan can pull it off.
