Isn’t George based on Larry David?

George was definitely Larry, but there was even some of Larry's craziness in Jerry's character. Larry actually made the remark about hating anyone who had a pony growing up in real life.

The episode when George wanted an apartment but the apartment board wanted to give it to an old man because he suffered from being a survivor of the Andrea Doria shipwreck. He goes in front of the board to tell of his suffering and you see clips of him talking about things he did in past episodes with shots of people on the board crying listening to the horror of George's life

He even talks shite to the old man about how the shipwreck wasn't that bad something along the lines of "I heard it took 9 hours to sink...that old ship eased into the water like an old man getting into his bath"

After george learns about the details of the wreck and decides to fight back, when he goes to the apt and sees the old man there he greets him with an "Ahoy!" Gets me every time.

I love his "restrained jubilation" when he finds out that his fiance has died.

George is tops, but my favorite episodes are the ones where all 4 of them get pretty equal time and they all get intertwined. The Slicer is one of those that comes to mind first.

But I think my favorite George moment not anyway mentioned was the eclair. Every time someone wants to salvage something from a trash can, I use Jerry's line, "Adjacent to refuse... is refuse."

Frank Costanza had the highest % of laughs to screen time in the show.

That motherfricker knew how to stop short.

That’s my move!

That’s in my top 5 episodes. Fusilli Jerry.

I don’t know, Elaine with all the excellent Peterman, Putty and other dating and job stuff? She was key to countless of the funniest moments.

Elaine is great. She is also the complete opposite of George:

Smart
Attractive
Constantly employed

Her is insults are so cutting. She is legit mean in the show.

The show really is a genius in how the three characters navigate the same story with completely different personalities.

And timeless. IMO it has aged well and the humor is remarkably still funny and relevant despite the many years since, which is impressive given the time and societal changes.

Friends is a good comparison IMO. I always liked it but for some reason it has aged very badly, maybe because the fashion was very on point for the 90s and now looks, well, very 90s. Contrarily, seems like the fashion/appearance in Seinfeld was kinda bland, which nowadays actually helps make it look not as dated. Maybe Elaine’s early hairstyle (long curly with it kinda pulled back on top) would be an exception as it always seems pretty 90s to me anyway.
