Hmm. From that i can see the usual people won't like it. Or the people they listen to won't like it.

you liked the acolyte didn’t you?

First episode was ok, aside from the hamfisting. Didn’t realize Muschietti directed it

Yes.

The second one will drop a little early on Friday for Halloween.

I mean, the IT IP came literal decades before Stranger Things. So, is it a horror where the main characters are kids from yesteryear? Yes, but it's been that way since the actual 80s when the book came out. Also, way more gruesome than Stranger Things will ever be.

Strangely enough I've never seen the movie IT. Weird considering my name and avi.

But, I was just thinking it's a bunch of kids dealing with something the adults either don't believe or are just not aware of yet. The first kid gets attacked and sent to some other reality like the upside down.

Someone mentioned Dick Halloran making an appearance in the first episode. I didn't catch that.

He was driving the vehicle that picked up the two soldiers on base. The camera caught him looking at the two guys a couple of times. The actor is Chris Chalk.

I don't believe his name was mentioned in the episode, but it was in the preview for the rest of the season.

The premiere of IT: Welcome to Derry enticed a lot of viewers back into Pennywise’s clutches.

The HBO series debuted to 5.7 million cross-platform viewers (measured over three days), making Welcome to Derry the third biggest series debut in HBO’s history. It trails only the premieres of House of the Dragon — which had nearly 10 million day-one viewers in 2022 — and The Last of Us, which opened with 4.7 million on its first night in 2023 and moved well past 5.7 million in following the three days.

Legit first episode but the blatant CGI in some shots and that baby monster were pretty stupid in all honesty. Everything else was great and did not see that ending going like that. Well done.

I hope they have a reason Pennywise stops using the mutant baby form to kill people b/c otherwise that thing is so damn OP I'm not sure why he would every attack anyone in any other way. Prequels are tough to land. Since it's a "sequel" filmmakers want to up the stakes but often in doing so they kind of break the original movie's logic. There are just so many places it can go off the rails. I hope they don't get too over the top w/things.

I was a bit hot and cold on the first episode. Some parts were really good and there were a few I rolled my eyes at pretty hard. Agree that the CG was kind of crap on the demon baby and I wish they had made a physical prop for close ups.

I hope this show gets better as the season goes on. The CGI on the baby is laughable. The kid actors were just ok also. I mean the one kid was cussing like a sailor the whole episode. Also are they going to explain why IT came to Derry?
