Its an amazing scene but Emily Blunt's entire character in that movie is basically an essay on why women shouldnt be in law enforcement.

"oh no wtf are we doing, oh no"

uhhhh neutralizing cartel gangmembers loaded to the gills with weapons and face tats.

Wtf are you upset about?

i don't think that was unintentional. it's not that she was unqualified, she was just physically unable to live in this world.

i also got that message from Wind River, TBH. Elizabeth Olson's character was capable, but she survived because she was smart, not lucky, but she also wasn't cut out for this world.

The hospital bed scene in Wind River is very underrated.

Its a great character and again, adds to the realism. No 120 pound woman kicking the shite out of a room full of 200 pound dudes in hand to hand combat. She's clearly very competent as a police officer, gets in a few gun fights and handles it very well, goes off on her own in a drug trafficking cave with a full blown raid going on and finds what she was looking for.

She's just being used, and knows it, and elects to go along because she thinks the ends justify the means, and she was chosen because she would think that way and the black guy wouldn't, and she proves she still does by not shooting Alejandro in the end even though she is completely broken by then. She's an excellent character.

Well she says she wants to know what it was for not necessarily that she thought it would end justly. It was curiosity not hope that made her stay.

Yea i can see that. Regardless, she's a great character. They all are. Almost everyone who speaks in the movie is a great character.

Nope. She wanted to make a difference but wasn't ready for how far Matt and Alejandro were going to go. Matt used that naivety to trap her to be used to approve the missions end.

After they figured out where the tunnels were located she and the lawyer had the conversation with the boss that no matter the increase in arrests the streets were getting worse.

The poster I was responding to was specifically talking about at the hotel when Matt tells her she can frick off and her partner tells her let’s just go and she literally says “I have to know”. Thats why she stays and goes with them to the tunnel.

It’s probably not gonna be among most people’s favorite scenes but I really liked the short scene where Blunt’s character meets with her boss, the director, and he spells it out for her as much as he can.
